A Cool Morning (PATROL) [Finished]

Khari padded over to Avikii and stopped in front of him. Her tail flicked happily.
"Hey there," she cooed.

Avikii noticed a small group of wolves approaching, he sighed seeing Khari, knowing she would be a handful. Yet, he offered up the best enthusiastic smile he could pull and began to speak. "Alright, this is a good sized group, let's go, it's just a quick patrol." He informed, and turned to lead the three younger wolves out of the den site.

He was careful where he put his paws under the thin layer of snow that had fallen days earlier, the suns strong rays creating certain spots where pale green, almost yellow grass poked through.

OOC: screw it, I'm adding Leafa XD

IC: Leafa ran after the group of wolves, her fur flat against her body as she ran.
"Wait! Let me come along!" Leafa called out.

Khari looked back and grumbled. It was that pesky she-wolf again. The young wolf turned her back to Leafa and kept moving.

Avikii glanced back at a familiar voice before realizing it was Leafa, he held back a smile. He was aware of her and Soba, and to be honest, he wasn't sure what he had to say about it. The alpha ignored whatever feelings crept up his throat, and faced forward again.

He continued to lead the small patrol east, toward the border they would be patrolling.

Soba nuzzled Leafa's cheek, "and I'm glad you did." He told her.

Kuno remained quite, when a scent of rabbit hit his nose. This is my chance to impress the alpha! He thought, and abrutly went off path to follow the scent of the rabbit. He found it, it was eating some grass that showed through the snow. With a big leap the subordinate bounced forward, landing on the prey and snapping its neck. He picked it up and carried it back to the group, with was now a little ways away.

Leafa smiled at Soba and pressed her nose into his cheek. When Avikii barked, she looked around and flicked her tail at Soba. She padded over to the the border and began marking it, while looking for any herbs and prey.

Khari glanced around, unsure of what to.She glanced at Avikii hopefully.

Avikii returned from marking his area of the border, which was slightly more southern. He paused, a small rustling sound picking up in his ears. He swung his head around to scan the slightly snowy ground around him. No use, it must be a mouse. Is it worth the catch? Avikii glanced at the group which was a little ways ahead. Looking back at the ground under his paws he decided extra prey wouldn't hurt.

The black and tan coated male shoved his muzzle down towards the ground, trying his best to pick out the prey scent over the cool snow. In a matter of heartbeats he found a trail, a light one, but it was there. He followed it, to a small bush, where the scent grew stronger. He could see it now, the mouse, a plump one at that, the pups would love to play with it before eating. Avikii pushed forward, his muzzle diving into the bush, and in a quick snap of his jaws, the helpless creature was dangling between his jaws.

Avikii turned, shaking out his pelt as he pulled his muzzle from the bush. It was a small catch, but hey, it was prey, and prey was hard to come by in the winter months. He padded back over to the group, seeing as they finished up their marks as well.

Soba listened in as Leafa complimented Avikii, even though it was a small catch, the she-wolves complimented. He instead gave a nodto Avikii.

Kuno awed over the alpha's catch, he wished he knew how to hunt better.

Soba looked at Leafa, "would you like to hunt together? We can move south if you want, I've had luck down there."

Kuno looked at Leafa and Soba, not completely grasping the concept of love.
