Crescent would not call herself a social wolf.
Though she lived with the pack and would defend them with her life, she wasn't overly attached to anyone or anything. The subordinate sat near a rock, about to head off on a patrol. She would do it alone, but it was then that she spotted Comet heading towards her. Part of her wanted to leave, right at that moment, simply so she wouldn't have to make small talk. Begrudgingly, she realized that it was too late to go it alone at that moment and had no choice but to go with Comet. Crescent dipped her head in greeting.

Not really knowing why his paws took him to Cresent, he stood next to the female. "Fine evening, isn't it?" he spoke calmly, looking to the sky and not making eye contact with his pack mate. Unlike most wolves, he wasn't really the conversational type, and besides the small talk he had with females who awed over him, he was actually pretty quiet. The weather was near perfect and he wondered if life could get any better. Well, besides the human in their camp, which he could tell was taking a toll on Storm, having to his pack from killing it during the dead of night. Not to mention all the tension between wolves. Some agreeing with the alpha, other not; everyone was on edge and it made him mad.
Giving his thin pelt a shake, the taller wolf was tired of the awkward silence between him and Cresent. "Going on a patrol? Mind if I join you?" he asked with a smile, looking down to the she-wolf and tilting his head playfully to the side.

Crescent frowned and nodded, but did not return Comet's playful gesture. "Fine. Let's head off then." She remembered Comet was one of those wolves who supported Storm's decision to keep the human alive - how stupid! She'd made her case as clear as the water in the creek. Keeping the human with them would just be idiotic, and would hurt the whole pack. She couldn't believe Comet's reasoning, and yet here she was, on a patrol with the subordinate. She sensed he was a bit uncomfortable, and it made Crescent the slightest bit satisfied.
"I see you don't have anything better to do than babysitting that human pup you agreed to take in? Getting a bit boring, hey?"

Padding next to Cresent, Comet could practically feel her discomfort, and it satisfied him. "Actually, I do have something better to be doing, hunting for the pack, duh," he replied with a smirk, rolling his eyes in a playful way."And mind you, babysitting the pup is anything but boring. If anything, it's way more interesting and exciting than pack life," Comet still wasn't a big fan of pack life, and usually a day in the pack was pretty bland. But now with the human pup in their midst, he got plenty more jobs and responsibilities than a Subordinate usually did.
After a few moments of unwanted silence, he finally decided to say something. "So, how has being the pack Healer been?" Besides the human, not much had been going on that needed a healer beside a pup or two that had greencough, so he wondered if Storm had ranked up Cresent only to assign her busy work and keep her out of trouble. If that's the case, then he should've ranked me up by now too... Comet thought glumly to himself, waiting for Cresents reply.

Crescent raised a non existent eyebrow at Comet's remarks about the human pup. I'll have you know I'm very much enjoying being a healer. I get to do things, and I guarantee that the day that a battle breaks out between Canyon Pack and us, I'll suddenly be your best friend - and I can fight too, you know. I can kill, and I won't hesitate too. It's surprised me none of the herbs have killed that filthy little human yet. She seemed to stomach it OK, though only time will tell. I bet she'll be dead within a weak, one way or another. There's no way she'll survive in a wolf pack."

Comet listened intently and looked to the sky as the two of them walked out of the forest and onto the open moor. "Well, I think you'll be surprised how strong human pup can be," he said with a grin. "Not like I'm a human expert of anything," he chuckled. The two wolves walked at a steady pace until they reached the top of a small hill in the middle-ish area of the moor. The sun was starting to set and everything here was perfect. Before he could admire the territory any more, Comet quickly came to a stop and scented the air. Rabbit. "Be right back!" the slender wolf barked, darting off in the direction of the scent. Sure enough, just a little ways away was a big, plump jack rabbit eating some dry grass. Unlike felines, wolves were very loud and obnoxious when hunting, and the as soon as the rabbit heard the loud thump of Comet's paws on the earth, it couldn't care less about eating.
The rabbit ran for its life with a wolf on its tail. Comet's tongue flew out of his mouth and the wind in his ears felt amazing. He felt as if he was about to soaring into the air and start flying. Blood pumping, panting heavily, and dirt flying everywhere, he couldn't give up now. Besides, what would Cresent think of him if he couldn't catch a simple rabbit? For a moment or two, he thought the piece of prey might outrun him, but he pushing his limits a little harder soon paid off. Half jumping, half slipping and scrambling over the rabbit, he quickly grabbed its neck and gave a good shake.
Trotting up the small hill and back to Cresent, he breathed heavily, and dropped the rabbit at her paws. Oddly enough, one of the one things that made him happy was a good hunt, and between his panting and fast breathing, a cheery smile was across his muzzle, almost like a pup who'd caught it's first vole. "Enjoy," he laughed, sitting down tiredly with a thump.

Crescent said nothing, but took the rabbit. Why was he hunting for her? She took a bite and looked back up at Comet. "I'm perfectly capable of hunting for myself, you know. Are you sure you don't want some of it?" She gritted her teeth. She didn't want to say it, but she felt obliged that she had to - and besides, she knew she'd have to get it out one day. "Thank you, then. And by the way - it annoys me to say this - but you actually aren't half bad."

OOC: (cough) www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZLkw9io9C0Comet let out a sigh. Could she ever just be grateful? The Subordinate wanted to let out a growl of annoyance, but her next comment made it ears perk up. Aren't half bad? For a moment, Comet was the happiest wolf in Slough Creek, until he replayed what she'd said in his head. Wait, since when was I "half bad?" Tilting his head, he looked to Cresent with curiosity. "So, you've always thought of me as a "bad" wolf?" He asked the question in a teasing, and playful tone, but he really just wanted to know the truth of how she felt about him.

(OOC: that is an awesome song) Crescent - for quite possibly the first time - smiled. A small, crooked one, but a smile nonetheless. "Not a 'bad' wolf, per se, but a very irritating one. One that I had absolutely no desire to be around. But hey, after spending time with you - you aren't that annoying. Mind you, most of the pack is." She looked back ahead in front of her. "Out of pure curiosity, then, what do you think of me?'

Usually, Comet would've been offended by the comment that Cresent had made, but under the circumstances, he took it as an odd sort of compliment. Besides, him and the Healer had more in common than he realized. Both were pretty sly, and weren't exactly big fans of pack life. "What do I think of you?" he echoed, looking at Cresent. What did he think of her? Now that he spent the time to stop and think about it, he never really thought about how he felt about other wolves, much less what he thought of she-wolves.
Trying to hurry up his thinking, he finally came up with an answer, one that he hoped didn't sound too lame. "Well, at first you seems as sour as a rotting berry and as sharp as a thorn. Not sharp as in your mind, but like a thorn in my paw," Comet started off, looking down to the remains of the rabbit and quickly eating it in a few short bites. Licking his lips, he decided to continue. "But I mean, I guess you're not that bad," Comet concluded, looking off into the distance and letting the awkward silence set in once more.
