Role-playing can be confusing at times, especially to those who are new to it. So, these rules are, well, guidelines, really—to make role-playing easier to understand for all. All role-playing topics are located under the WQ RP board; anything out of that is just member chat, essentially.
*Everything that you RP on public topics are on in RP. If someones OC is a male wolf and has "feelings" for a female wolf (in RP) that does not mean they have real life feelings for that member.*
Don't RP in other pack territory. Try not to role-play in other pack territory. Example: Don't randomly appear in Aspen pack territory when you are Canyon Pack wolf for no reason. If you wanted to plan a forest fire or battle, go to the Plotting Page were you can plan events.
Topics going at the SAME TIME do not relate to each other. It's pretty self explanitory. If you are a pup in one topic and in another topic you get promoted to a omega, in the older topic you are still a pup. Or if there was a fire in one topic, then the all the other topic DO NOT have a fire in them. You only have memories of the fire. Only once a topic is finished, a wolf only has a memory of that topic in new topics. It may sound confusing, but topics shouldn't last all that long.
Don't post in old topics. Check the date on the latest post if you are unsure if it's recent. After about a month, it's considered an old topic. Also, try to refrain from posting in topics that have already started and are more than 10 posts-a page of posts in.
Don't control another member's wolves in topics. If they're not posting, wait. Give them time, you don't know how their life works. For all you know, they only get two hours of time a day to go on, or they're on vacation, or they had an urgent matter to attend to, or they forgot to log off, etc., etc.
Give members a chance to post. If there are more than two members involved in a topic, give everyone a chance to say something, to get a word in edge-wise, ya' know? You never know when someone may have a really good reply.
Go with the flow of the topic. Whoever started it had something in mind when they made it, so don't just have a coyote come out of nowhere to attack you, or interrupt a member when they're addressing another wolf. It's rude and makes the topic-starter feel bad.
Maybe most important of all, ACT YOUR RANK. If you're a pup, act like a pup. You don't know anything! You've barely even been around! If you're an Omega, act like an Omega. You know some things at first, sure, but that's only what you were able to gather from living for a short time inside your camp. You need to LEARN what your pack smells like. You need to LEARN what coyotes are. You need to LEARN the proper hunting position. You need to LEARN what the human impact is. Please don't act like you know everything just so you can get a certain rank, it doesn't work like that, it'll just take longer. When you're a higher rank, I'd assume you know a lot by now, but if you haven't seen something in a topic, you don't know it.
Role-play in third person. Because you aren't actually the wolf, they're just your character. Ex: (What not to do) I walked through the bushes and jumped on the rabbit. Ex: (To do) Storm walked through the bushes and jumped on the rabbit.
All role-playing topics are in past-tense. Ex: (What not to do) Storm walks down the stream, and he sees the intruders a couple paw steps away. Ex: (To do) Storm walked down the stream and he saw the intruders a couple of paw steps away.
Please try to write with good grammar and spelling. It's sometimes hard for others to read someones post if it doesn't have punctuation or all the words have typos.
Ex: (Bad) Sorm rann threw the bushese to te noyse whats going on he barked.
Ex: (Good) Storm ran through the bushes to the noise. "What's going on?!" He barked.
Absolutely no Godmodding. This is when one plays a character that can never be destroyed, harmed, is avoiding impossible amounts of damage, etc. The character, hurts and/or kill the other characters without giving the other characters a chance. It is also when your wolf knows knows information that they shouldn't. Do not be a Godmodder.
No Cross Breeding! Being mates with another wolf from a different pack is forbidden. You may feel love towards another, but no having pups or switching packs to be with them. Depending on you Alpha, cross breeding could resort in you being exiled or your wolf being killed.
Absolutely no mating scenes. It is just totally not appropriate for this site in so many different ways. You can show love and passion between two characters without showing mating. This goes doubly for force-mating (yes, I know that in real life all wolf mating is technically force-mating, but this is fantasy and that is still incredibly inappropriate).
All wolves must wait until they are officially ranked to have pups.
