Ranking up in the wolf world can be easy at times, but also somewhat difficult. You start out as a pup. After that you must earn your place among your pack, thus making your way to a higher rank. Here is what you need to know about ranking up.
(Requirements for ranking up as a rouge are at the bottom of the page)
You can find more information on what the different ranks entail here: Rank Definitions
~~~~~
From Pup to Subordinate:
After one week of being a pup, your alpha will rank you up to a subordinate. As a newer member of the pack, you must be a Subordinate for at least a month, and in that time will take part in training. Training will consist of basic defense, hunting, and care giving skills. Being a Subordinate, you are younger than most other wolves, and this is the time that you will start to figure out what you want to do later in life (what Official Rank you want, picking between hunter, warrior, or scout). Do you like protecting the pack and being on the front lines during battles? Or would you rather make sure the pack is well fed. The choice is yours.
When promoted to Subordinate, you are not assigned to one wolf in particular to train you, but it is suggested that you train with at least one Official Ranked wolf. If you want a specific wolf, you can ask them if they'd like to help you along your journey.
From Subordinate to Young Official Rank:
After you've completed everything needed to rank up to your Official Rank, your pack alpha will see if you're fit to be ranked up and will hold a ceremony. At this point, you should have an idea of what you want your "occupation" in the pack to be (warrior, hunter, or scout).
From Official Rank to Upper Official Rank:
You've earned your Official Rank now, but what about all those other ranks like Lead hunter, warrior, or scout? These are Upper Official Ranks, earned by the older and more knowledgeable wolves of the pack, in which your pack alpha will decide if you rank up or not. Of course, if you like your Official Rank, you're welcome to keep it and ranking up to an Upper Official Rank is optional.
~~~~~
From an Official Rank to Elder:
Choosing a beta is also based on OOC connections too, along with IC connections. You must be active to have this spot, be a decent rper, etc.

~~~~~
From Official Rank to Upper Official Rank:
- Must have had an Official rank for two months
- Must have gone to two gatherings with your Official Rank
- Have gone on four or more patrols
You've earned your Official Rank now, but what about all those other ranks like Lead hunter, warrior, or scout? These are Upper Official Ranks, earned by the older and more knowledgeable wolves of the pack, in which your pack alpha will decide if you rank up or not. Of course, if you like your Official Rank, you're welcome to keep it and ranking up to an Upper Official Rank is optional.
~~~~~
From an Official Rank to Elder:
- Gone on at least six patrols with your pack
- Have had an Official Rank OR Upper Official Rank for at least four months
- Have been to at least two more Full Moon Gatherings (four in all)
- Have one on one trained at LEAST one Subordinate
To become an elder, you don't necessarily have to be old. Example: a wolf could have a defect or get seriously injured that causes them to be unable to preform their usual dude.
~~~~~
Becoming a Healer:
It's a slightly different story for wolves who wish to become a healer. After ranking up to Subordinate, they will do basic battle and hunting training like every other wolf, but will also undergo the learning of herbs. When the time comes to receive an Official Rank, they will rank up to healer rather than a hunter, warrior or scout like all the other subordinates. There are two Healers in each pack (the Healer and his/her Novice)
How to rank up to Beta:
- Have been an official rank for at least three months
- Have assisted in the training of a subordinate
