It was late, the sun was already falling behind the distant hills as Avikii settled down after the days patrols and hunts. He had been growing curious as to why Kaiser had been acting a little off lately, but his answer would finally arrive, today.
He looked up, Kaiser was nearby, but she looked exhausted. He tilted his head and jumped right back up, heading over to his beloved. "Hey." He began, "are you okay?" He felt a wave of worry wash over him as thoughts filled his mind. Was it greencough? Whitecough? He fretted for Kaiser, but then, a more logical thought pried its way through his mind. He looked down at her, at her swollen belly, then slowly made eye contact again, this time his tone was more relaxed and serious tone. "Is it the pups?" Avikii asked in a mere whisper.

Kaiser perked her ears a bit, hearing paw steps growing closer to her before tilting her head over, looking at Avikii. She squinted a bit, the sun glaring down. She nodded a bit, " Yeah, I'm fine." She said, hoping he wasn't too worried for her. She let out a sigh, hearing his next question before nodding again, resting her head on her paws.

Avikii eyed her, she looked almost, sad. He leaned over, nuzzling her cheek with his nose, "You're going to be fine, trust me." He pulled back slightly, wondering if he should find Koga since she seemed to be good with herbs or Broken since she was good with pups... Or possibly both? He looked at Kaiser again, he would never know what it would feel like to be a she-wolf getting ready to birth pups, but from what he had seen, it's painful.
"I'll be right back." he said quickly and turned to find one of the she-wolves he knew worked well with herbs.

Kaiser rested her head on his muzzle for a few brief seconds before nodding again. " I know." She said, smiling gently before looking up at him, her pale eyes shining slightly. " Alright." She said, watching him leave, not exactly sure what he was doing.

Avikii spotted Koga easily, she was relaxing by the left over prey. "Koga!" He barked, quickly making his way over to her. "You're good with herbs, can you help me?" He lowered his voice slightly, "I think Kaiser will be having her pups soon and I would really like your help since I don't know where Broken is." He informed the golden pelted wolf, hoping she would assist them.

Avikii looked down at the three balls of squirming fur. One was a pale grey with tan along her under body, another was a variety of grays, which he assumed came from Kaiser's side, and the last was completely jet black. "They're beautiful." Was all the once mighty alpha could speak. Two females and a male, and he couldn't believe on of them looked like Swift. Swift. That was the name. He looked to Kaiser, waiting for her to say something before he spoke himself.
He looked back down at the male, he appeared that he could possibly grow quiet large given time, just like himself. Of course, the two females would grow strong too.

Avikii leaned in closer, nuzzling the side of her muzzle, "do you have any names in mind? I've just got one." He couldn't help but grin, flicking his gaze towards the direction of the grey and tan pup.

Swift wriggled close, pressed up against her mothers stomach, silently suckling on her mothers teat. A fierce hunger burned through her, one for warmth, another for milk. She breathed in softly, she could smell one big blur, but the scent of her milk mother overtook the most of it. She relaxed at the soft beat of her heart, the gentle rhythmic song she would never forget.
Lightning yawned, about to head into his den to sleep, he had gone on a late night walk, not too sure what to do with himself at the time. He came back into camp to see Avikii and Kaiser and a few other small bodies. He approached slowly to see that it was indeed Kaiser's pups. "Canyon pack is growing rather quick," he commented to Avikii with a warm smile. Just behind his gaze hid a slightly hint of jelousy and sorrow. He wished that those could be his pups. He did. However he showed but a sign of it. Kaiser didn't love him, he doubted she ever would, he would just have to move on and he had finally come to terms with it. "Say, Avikii, think you could make that one there a warrior, Its a bit tough taking every patrol myself at daybreak and sunset." He commented with a warm joking smile, a sparkle in his eye that was not a star's reflection but a hint of humor that glittered there instead.
