Avikii padded into the clearing of his pack's den site, he had gone out to hunt and come back empty-pawed. Prey was becoming scare as the norther breezes blew south, the alpha shivered at the thought of snow. He padded over to his den, about to settle down for a nap when something came to mind. Okami hasn't been ranked up yet... He thought, as Avikii scanned the small clearing for the black she-wolf.
He thought for a moment, knowing she was an excellent hunter, he decided it was definitely time to give her a better rank. He wasted no time and quickly made his way atop the rocky den, and once he held a dominant stance, he lifted his muzzle to the sky and let out a quick howl, calling his pack together.
"Today, a well-known, loyal she-wolf will be ranking up today. Okami, please take a few paces forward." He spotted her at the edge of the clearing, and held a warm smile.

Before her name was called, Okami had been contributing prey to the pile. The she-wolf was quite happy in the pack. She had grown accustomed to the rituals and traditions and was surprised at the number of friendly faces that had greeted her when she had come. She lifted her head and started to pad away to hunt once more. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Avikii position on the boulder. The howl alarmed her and she turned, little head tilted to the side in curiosity. When her name was spoke, it was a good few seconds before she fully comprehended the sentence.
Me? Ranking up? Now?
She quickly followed the simple command and padded a few steps before she was almost right below the Alpha. Although she was calm, her eyes betrayed the puppy like happiness that spread through her like a warm ray of sunshine. She grinned slightly, almost unnoticeable.

Her happiness was easily visible to Avikii, after years of ranking wolves up, it was kind of hard not to see a young wolf's excitement. The warm smile remained across his muzzle as he began to speak, looking down at Okami with confidence.
"Okami," the alpha began, "you have shown so much improvement since you joined the pack, and I'm happy to be giving you your official rank. It wasn't hard to decide that you will now be known as a hunter, let your skills in the field keep your pack well fed." Avikii dipped his head, honoring her new rank.

Okami's tail tip wagged in obvious joy. She dipped her head and then looked Avikki in the eye.
"Thank you. I promise to serve this pack as best I can as a hunter."

The alpha lifted his head, stealing a final glance before speaking up again. "Pack dismissed." He informed, and in an effortless leap made his way off the neatly stacked pile of rocks that created the alpha's den.
