Morning Patrol - open [Finished]

302 sat down after he had moved a little ways from the edge of the hill, "alright, about battle. Do you want to have a go at it? Or do you want me to talk about it for a moment before you try for yourself?" He cocked his head slightly, almost hoping he would choose to get right into battle, the Casanova wasn't the best speaker, it wasn't what he was known for.

302 nodded, happy with his answer. "Alright, I'll be the attacker, defend yourself or attack back." He educated the younger wolf, all while standing up and approaching him.

The Casanova snarled, a fake snarl, and ducked into an attacking position. He approaching slowly still, wanting to make sure Soba had enough time to figure out what to do. As 302 got closer, he began to imitate attack motions, such as swipes and bounds. "What are you going to do?" He teased in a playful manner, trying to spark some fight in the pale colored male.

"You're going to have to do better than that." 302 chuckled, his gaze lowered. He decided to take his turn and get a hit at Soba, with an outstretched neck he nipped at the young wolf's ear, attempting to grab his attention and make him a little angrier. They were pack mates, but this is what they did for training, toughen each other up, and there was no better way to learn it.

302 grinned, perfect, it worked, he thought. "Always be careful about what move you make." He hissed into Soba's ear. Little did the yearling know that he hadn't paid attention to the Casanova's leg position. His hind legs were bunched up under the pale wolf's gut, in a flash, he kicked upwards, which sent Soba away from him.

302 got to his paws, prepared for Soba's next move.

302 sparked, he loved seeing the determination in Soba's eyes and efforts, which made it all the better for him. "Make sure you go for a spot that an enemy can't shake you off!" He barked, using a rather powerful swing of his head to shake free of the lighter wolf.

He wheezed for a moment catching his breath. Soba's putting up a good fight, he'll be a great fighter once I'm through with him. The Casanova thought, pretty proud of himself.

Put off guard, the Casanova tumbled to the side. Sure, Soba was lighter than him, but a surprise attack always did a smaller wolf good. "Nice choice!" He huffed as he hit the ground. 302 got to his paws, "If you every take a hit like that from a larger wolf and they managed not to fall on top of you, get up as quickly as possible!" He barked again, throwing out the advice.

302 stood upright, depleting his battle-ready stance. He let out a light breath, which he didn't realize he was holding.

"Okay, it's always good to take breaks, you can't learn everything at once." He gave a friendly wink, "besides, there's probably work for you to do around the den site." He chuckled, glancing back to Soba with golden optics. "Let's go then," the Casanova invited, turning around and not waiting for an answer before he turned to head back down the slope.

The Casanova lead himself and the younger wolf back down the rocky, slanted slope, picking his way down carefully. We should have gone down the southern side, 302 thought to himself.

Finally they were on flat ground and crossing the shallow creek again, 302 waded through the clear shimmering waters, wishing it was warm out so he could actually enjoying the coolness it provided. He got out on the other side, shaking his pelt free of water for the second time that day.

302 began to continue forward, plodding towards the center of their territory, also where their den site was located.


The Casanova took a few final bounds up the small slopes of their territory, the den site growing closer and closer with each bound. Finally, he crossed over the ridge that made up the safe overlook of the clearing.
