Avikii stood atop the neatly stacked boulders that made up the alpha's den, he looked down among his pack mates, spotting the younger wolves. Today a fatherless pup would be ranking up into the world of subordinates. He lifted his muzzle to the air, letting out a short, shallow howl, which called together his pack.
He finished the howl, lowering his gaze to look at his gathering wolves. "Today, a pup will be receiving the rank of subordinate." He called in a low tone.

kuno padded up to the perch that Avikii stood on, he knew this announcment had to be for him after all, since he was the oldest pup in the den.

Avikii smiled at the approaching wolf, slightly surprised to see little shock on Kuno's expression. "Kuno, step forward." The alpha beckoned, eager to be ranking up yet anoher pup.

Koga watched, her motherly senses filled with pride at the grown of her remaining pup. Poor kira just couldn't take the cold... she focused back to the event, ignoreing her sad thought.

Avikii noticed Koga had stayed back by the den that Kuno had once occupied, he wouldn't have a den anymore though, subordinates were known to sleep outside unless there was space in a common den, which there probably wasn't considering the pack's size. The alpha gathered his thoughts, looking back towards Kuno. "You have reached the age of a yearling, Kuno, thus meaning its time you ranked up to subordinate." Avikii held his welcoming smile, the one that most ranking up pups saw.
"From this moment until you receive and official rank, you will be seen as a subordinate. Serve your pack well, and always take the advice of older wolves in training lessons." Avikii dipped his head, offering a sliver of respect towards the younger wolf.

Kuno couldn't hold his smile anylonger, he was a subordinate now! "Thank you Avikii! I'll do my best!" He replied, proud of his new title.

Avikii's only reply was a curt nod of the head, he looked down at Kuno, who still seemed to be bursting with joy. "Dismissed," he barked over to pack, then quickly jumping down the neatly staked rocks of the den and perch.
