Avikii made his way over to his den, it was late morning, and he had already been out and about when the thought almost slipped his mind. Today was the planned date to rank up Broken’s pups, The alpha thought. He leaped with grace up atop the neatly stacked rock pile that provided warmth for him when he slept. He aced his pack now, and before speaking, let out a light howl to call the wolves together.
"Today we have some new subordinates to name!" He called, hoping to spark attention.

Hediki wandered towards Avikii's call rather aimlessly, pups weren't usually needed at pack meetings but the curiosity had gotten the best of him that morning. He plopped down at the edge of the group, staying as quiet as possible.

Lupus and Akita padded out of the nursery. They made their way over to Avikki and sat down in front of him.

Ceiko clambered out of the nursery, he was a bit clumsy on his way out. It was not only because he was growing so large so fast, but he was none the less steadily growing more and more blind. He glanced around the camp, unaware to what was happening, so he stayed on the outskirts of the group. The meetings were never really meant for pups, so he found it best to just stay out of their way. He narrowed his eyes as he tried to focus on Avikii, however he found it rather hard. What was once like looking through blurred eyes was now a steadily growing fog, something that seemed to get all the more dense day by day. The pupils of his eyes glittered with his surroundings, mirrored in the black of his eye that was steadily growing all the more grey. He didn't seem to notice that he may just be going blind, or perhaps its just that he didn't want to believe it.

Avikii watched as the three soon to be named subordinates made their way closer to the stacked rocks that he stood upon.
"Today, four pups have reached the age of subordinate." He began, his firm voice booming throughout the den site. "Akita, Lupus, Cieko, and Hediki, please step forward." The alpha male beckoned the younger wolves forward, and keeping a firm smile planted to his muzzle. He knew that Hediki had been looked down upon by most of the pack, simply because he was half pack. Truthfully, Avikii didn't like it much either, but he believed that if the young male ranked up, he could forget about his half pack blood and move onto becoming a full member of Canyon Pack, and hopefully, others would see that too.

Hediki perked up, he had been sitting in the back of the crowd for a while, simply listening in on what was going on and the small conversations between a few wolves around him. He was surprised to hear his name called by the alpha. Me? Ranking up? He thought, growing excited. Yet, he made sure to keep his excitement hidden, he was about to become a subordinate, and he had better act like one.

Ceikos ears swiveled around, his head tilted, "did I hear him right?" He muttered softly under his breath, his eyes widening with surprise. Of course he had heard him right, his hearing was growing a lot stronger then any other pups, yet disbelief made him think otherwise.
Swift glared out at Hediki, to her he seemed so smug to be ranking up before her, even if it was in truth just his mere excitement. Her tail lashed back and forth, 'I should be up there, not HIM!' She scoffed and stood up, no longer interested in the ceremony, ducking back into the nursery,

Avikii looked down at the gathering yearlings, "today, you four will be receiving the rank of subordinate." He barked over the pack, "so from this day forward until you receive an official rank, you will all be known as subordinates. Train well, listen to wolves older than you, and in time you will gain more knowledge." He dipped his head, offering his respect toward the younger wolves.

Hediki looked up at his alpha, a big smile stuck to his muzzle. I can't believe it! I'm finally a subordinate! He wagged his tail slightly, dipping his head back to his alpha.
He felt eyes bearing into his back, and he could guess whose they were without even turning to look. Hie snapped his head around to glance at the she-wolf behind the devilish glare, but he was slightly late. Hediki watched as Swift darted back into the nursery. He grinned, letting out a small scoff. She's probably jealous. Oh boo hoo my own father didn't rank me up before that dirty half-pack! He imitated her in his mind, not daring to say such words out loud.
