Elpis had been needing to talk to Avikii for some time now. She had begun to question her path in life after her subordinate ceremony. A bit nervous, she stood by the camp entrance and looked around for the alpha. What am I going to say? What will he say? She thought on and on.

Avikii was getting ready to head out on a patrol when he noticed a familiar grey pelt already waiting by the entrance. Elpis? He thought, picking up his pace to greet her, and ask what she was doing simply standing by the entrance.
"Hello Elpis," he said, grabbing the younger wolf's attention with a friendly smile. "Were you waiting to go on a patrol?" He asked her

Avikii eyed her for a moment, "I suppose we could head east, there's a few patches of herbs there." He told her, "but I do wonder, why are you asking about the herbs?" He asked her, tilting his head only slightly.

Elpis was hesitant to speak. You have to speak up. She thought. You have to pull yourself together. "I've been having some thoughts, sir," she paused and took a breath, "about who I am. I have seen some things which I do regret bearing witness to," she began to mutter, "like Arrow being taken down outside camp when she tried to flee," she spoke louder again and paused for a step. "What I am trying to say is, I'm willing to fight for you, sir, and will put my life on the line as you have graciously given me my own by taking me in when I was smaller," she paused once more and looked at her paws,"but..," she trailed.

Avikii breathed out, not realizing he was holding his breath. "So, what are you saying then?" He was an optimistic wolf, open to new ideas to what the future held. He could guess what ELpis meant, but at the same time he hadn't a clue to what she was trying to say.
Lots of subordinates have doubts about their path to growing up, so the fact that this had been brought up didn't surprise him, he just never thought it would be Elpis to say it.

"I don't think I'd be well placed in a fighting position," Elpis continued and then looked up at him with a slight smile as the stress of the question began to lift off her shoulders,"I've always been helped and cared for, and I think its a sign that I should do the same for this pack. I want to learn to become a healer, sir." Just as the weight had lifted prior it had stated to settle back in. The anticipation for denial hung on her and she looked down again.

Avikii thought for a moment, it was more than true that they needed a healer, they had needed one since the start of the pack itself. "Elpis," he started, causing the anticipation to rise. "I'd love to see you train as our healer." He offered a light smile, "I completely get that you don't want to be on the front lines of battle, in fact, the healer helps the pack fight on in battles. You're asking for an important rank, do you think you can handle it?" He asked, assuming since she brought it up to him then it would be a yes.

Avikii looked down at her, "of course! Why wouldn't I? We need a healer, and I'm very open to what subordinates wish for their future to hold, and your future, leads to the path of a healer." He held his friendly smile, the only thing he was worried about is who would train her.

Avikii chuckled, glad to see her so happy with his acceptance. "So, let's head back to camp, I don't think I need to properly appoint you, but you're welcome to tell your pack mates." He informed, hoping she was okay with not having another ceremony.

Avikii knew she would eventually ask that question, "most likely Koga, or even me at some points. Koga knows the most about herbs, so ask her your questions, but I'm here as well, I know enough to teach but you will need to know everything, and that's something I can't personally provide." He told her, beginning to pad back towards the den site. Hopefully Koga will like the idea of teaching Elpis her knowledge of herbs... Even if she is a hunter.
