Mastilo was playing with the white snow near the borders of the place the Tribe had decided to settle in, making piles of snow to jump in, kind of what he liked to do with the dry leaves before this season blew them all away, or digging small holes to hide in just for fun. He was about to hit the year of age, and his time with the other wolves had proven to be quite beneficial to the white wolf as he went from being nothing much but skin and bones to a healthy young wolf. Now, most of his new companions wouldn’t be able to tell he was that old, as his unusually small size made him look a lot younger than he really was. Yeah, he wasn’t small enough for his condition to be considered a disease, but it was still annoying when other cubs or even fully grown wolves pointed it out all the time. His different colored eyes went from his piles of snow to the other wolves, more than once he had tried to get near them and play, or at least have a nice little conversation, but they so far he had only met aggressive wolves that growled at him when he asked them to play with him or wanted to talk about battles, killing and that kind of stuff. He just wanted to make a friend or two and do something not related to fighting or killing for once.

Malikai had been watching the young cub, Mastilo play in the snow for a while now. He questioned the pups happiness and energy, it was very out of character for wolves like them, and he had often seen the other cubs picking on him.
The dark muzzled male finally decided to approach the younger wolf, "hey, what's got you in a such a good mood? Bouncing around in the snow like that..." He questioned, holding back a disgusted wrinkle of his nose.

Luna padded over to the duo. "HI Malikai, Hi Mastilo wanna play?" Apparently Luna was the only she-wolf in the tribe that didn't like blood. Only she knew about that and they called her weak. It had only been tow days since she and Killian got attacked by the Puma it had scarred her for life. Physically and Emotionally, there was now a long scar along her flank.

Malikai turned on Luna, his hackles raising. "No." He barked with a stern tone, his gaze flicking between the two younger wolves. They were both so innocent, so prone to hating bloodshed and violence. This isn't what the tribe was.
The lean, sturdy male leaned forward, shoving his dark muzzle closer to Luna's. "Us rogues don't play or frolic through the open fields without a care in the world, we stay on guard, let nothing slip past us, and work our way to the top through violence." He growled, his ear flicking with irritation.

Luna whimpered as the older wolf came close, a bit too close for her liking. She ran off into the woods and hid in a hollow. She wanted peace in this world, everyone safe and sound not the complete opposite. She had barely even heard his words when she sprinted to the woods.

Mastilo jumped on a last pile of snow as Malakai padded towards him, however, he failed to build it high enough and ended up with his hind legs and tail outside of the snow and the rest of his body stuck in it. It took him some effort, but in the end he finally managed to push himself free a couple of seconds after hearing the older wolf’s muffled question and Luna’s voice, though not without his fur completely covered in snow.
He first looked at Malakai, smiling and wagging his tail “Well, it’s a nice snowy day and my belly if full, isn’t that enough reason to be happy?” He then turned to Luna, but before he could eagerly accept her offering and even suggest to teach her how to make soft snow piles so they could play together, Malakai’s voice forced him to close his muzzle and lower his ears and could only watch as Luna ran away.
“But…what’s wrong with having fun? And why through violence?” Mastilo was sincerely confused and couldn’t help but question the words of the dark muzzled wolf in front of him. All in the tribe seemed to be related to violence in one way or another, and it made him feel uncomfortable.

Malikai watched as Luna took off over the territory, scoffing. If she can't grow up and understand what the tribe really is, then she's too weak for us. He thought with an irritated flick of his tail.
Now, he glanced down at Mastilo, "having fun shows weakness," he barked, eyes narrowing once more. "If all we do if jump around and play the packs will see us as weak, we must show them who is stronger, through violence." He restated, obviously these care-free cubs just don't get it.

Mastilo lowered his ears with Malakai’s words. Even rogues like the ones he had met before were way more willing to have fun and relax than any of the tribe’s members, and not all of them were so sure that their goals required any kind of violence to be achieved at all…unless they were hunting, that is “I thought the packs didn’t come to this place though? And even if they did, I don’t think they would really care if they saw a bunch of cubs playing around, after all, that’s what we’re supposed to do…isn’t it?” He had always heard that young wolves like him were supposed to play and frolic with other wolves of her young age from the few wolves he had met before joining the tribe, and it was the first time hearing otherwise.
His mismatching eyes fell on the older wolves, full of silent questions and confusion. Maybe he would understand when he grew up? Though part of him was actually scared of understanding such an aggressive way to live.

"We teach our cubs at a young age that killing is the answer to your problems, haven't you figured that out by now?" He growled, lowering his head down at the pups eye level, shoving his dark muzzle closer to the young wolf.
"Not even our cubs should ever be seen as weak, we don't want any wolf seeing you as a target." He barked out a last line.

Mastilo lowered his ears and looked away, unable to hold the gaze of the older wolf for long as his words made its words to his ears and sank deep within himself. Killing…is never the answer…it shouldn’t be the answer… Even if he was tempted to say that out loud, he was too afraid to do so, wondering they should see him as a problem, and given their philosophy about problems…
“I…I understand…I’m sorry” He said almost in a whisper, unsure of what he was supposed to do in this situation “I’ll try to be better at…not being a target”.

Malikai snorted, "good to hear," he flicked his tail, eyes darting away from the younger male as he turned and left Mastilo behind. "I want to see improvement."
