Sayen rushed towards the camp entrance, sending some snow flying as she forced herself to come to an abrupt halt, realizing that going out on a patrol on her own would be somewhat stupid. After all, she wasn’t even trained and even if she fantasized about catching elk and bison like a true hunter as well as exploring the territory belonging to her pack until that time, she probably wouldn’t be able to do it alone just yet. Smiling and turning around, she decided to ask if any of the wolves of the pack would like to join her on what she could only consider a great adventure “Anyone up for a patrol?”.

Takoni perked his ears at the sound of rushing paw steps, he turned around to see a young subordinate, one he knew by the name of Sayen. The ale wolf dipped his head in greeting, "Hello, Sayen." He greeted with a soft smile, "I see you're eager to start training. Perhaps we can go out with a few others." He suggested, knowing the young she-wolf would most likely be more than happy to.

“Sure!” Finally, someone joined her patrol, and her smile grew even wider when Dawn decided to join as well, nodded excitedly before she could even finish her question properly. She then looked at the rest of the wolves, if nobody else wanted to join, she was sure that the small group should be enough to bring something at least somewhat decent to feed the pack…though in all honesty Sayen’s dreamer mind went to the big prey like bison and elk even if her rational side told her they would need a lot more wolves for something like that.

Takoni smiled, "alright, let's get going then." He said, stealing a glance at Dawn before turning to lead the two subordinates out of camp.
There was little prey out in this weather, they would be lucky if they stumbled across anything larger than a mouse. The male paused to scent the air, but then paused to look at the two she-wolves. "What can you smell? Any prey nearby?" He prompted, wanting them to get used to sniffing out their own prey.

Dawn tuck her nose in the air to scent for any kind of prey. "Mouse!" She whispered. Although it wasn't such a big deal she still thought any prey is food. She crept up behind the brown body and did a swift blow to the neck killing it.

Sayen sniffed the air, trying to mimic the older wolf’s action. In her mind, the scents of now few animals that she had eaten before rushed in and she immediately tried to find one that was at least somewhat similar to it.
She barely noticed Dawn’s actions as she caught the mouse, as her nose pointed her towards a somewhat bigger piece of prey “Hare” Her words were barely a whisper as she padded towards the scent. It took her some time to finally spot it and instinctively she rushed to get into a hunter’s crouch like she had done several times in the den site of the Bison pack. However, one thing was sneaking upon the other pups of the pack and other stalking real prey, thing she was forced to realize when the hare spotted her and took off running.
Without losing a single second, Sayen started to run towards the hare, her paws trying to keep up with the fast hare as she chased it around the place until it jumped inside its burrow. Guided by impulse rather than her head, Sayen pounced after it with the false impression of being able to catch it before it got away, but ended up with her head stuck inside the burrow instead “Uh…help?!” Her muffled barks echoed in the small space of the burrow as she tried to use her front paws to pull her head free.

Dawn chuckled as she padded over to the stuck subordinate. "Okay." She scrabbled at the dirt to loosen it up so she could squeeze her head out. "Next time you do that. You'll scare all the prey away!"
