(Topic sprouted off of: Get to know each other [THREAD])
Lightning walked out of the camp besides Hediki, he had not originally intended on patrolling with the young male, however he did have business to discuss. They walked down the path to the creek that flowed past Canyon territory. To Lightning, it almost felt as if it was not that long ago when it had been flooded and Kaiser was still expecting Avikii's pups alongside Koga, Broken and Arrow. He paused only briefly to shake out his fur, glancing around and scenting the air on occasion.
He slowly began to worry what the oblivious young male would do in reaction to the news he had yet to give to him.

Hediki walked with Lightning, still wondering why he had insisted on a patrol. Is this an assessment? Am I in trouble? Is there a secret he's going to tell me? The young wolf's mind raked for any other explanations. The male scented the air, hoping to impress the older wolf by being quick to find prey.

Lightning took a glance around as they began to gain distance towards the creek and further from the den-site. "We will patrol along the creek," Lightning announced, trailing off afterwards as if there were something more he were holding back from revealing to the young wolf.

Hediki didn't say anything, just continued to pad forward, wondering how quickly they would arrive at the creek.

A short time passed as they walked and Lightning finally decided it were time to tell the young male what he knew.
"Look, I have something to tell you. I suppose I will start from the begging," He sighed.
"A long time ago there was a mother wolf. Her mate had left her heartlessly, perhaps he were just truly a Casanova or perhaps just for lack of interest or more interest in some other passerby. The truth is, I cannot say exactly why." Lightning paused and looked at the ground as he walked. "The mother wolf had a litter of three... four? Apologies, again, I cannot recall. The pups were happy, however, it was not long before a large storm hit and the pup's mother fell very ill. She passed away, one .. or two of her pups died with her. The other two, whom had left to try and find help only returned to find them all dead. There was a band of foxes in the den, and they wondered if the sickness had gotten them or if it were really the foxes. The she pup blamed the male pup it was his fault. That bicker did not last very long. The foxes turned and chased them, but not for long because the pups slipped into an overflowing river."
Lightning glanced at the sky with glossed eyes as he paused in his tracks. He took a deep breath and continued his story. "They both nearly died, the male pup awoke, washed ashore somewhere and fraught hard to get his sister to awaken. When she finally awoke, it was obvious she had been hit in the head or something, because her mind was twisted, she was convinced that somehow the young male had killed his mother, that it was his fault she and their siblings died." He took a glance over at Hediki, hoping that he wasn't thinking that lightning was trying to relate his story to his own.
"The she-pup vowed she would be back. She fled. It was a long time before the young male found her again. He struggled to live, on the brink od death. He ate whatever scraps he could just to stay alive, forced to take up short deals with other rouges just to have some form of protection when he were weak. The pup was a young adult.. just about your age when he saw his sister again. She attacked him. She trained hard with some rouge pack. She trained to become an assassin, it was all she ever did. Train, train to kill." Lightnings eyes were wide with the same terror he had experienced that night.
"She killed him. Or so she thought. She left him for dead, with one large gash across his stomach. She left him with a scar with a story never to be forgotten. In all his unconsciousness, he had forgotten of most everything. He came to join the packs, headed for Bison. However a gruff meeting with her, she sent him off to Canyon, not happening to recognize him in the least. At the time, he didn't recognize her either. The brother, that was me. The sister, she's your mother."
Lightning glanced at Hediki, worrying of what he may think, or how he may respond.

Hediki found himself walking slower as the story progressed. He glanced up at Lightning after finally stopping altogether.
"So you're saying, my mother, Arrow, she's your sister?" He questioned, then glanced at his paws, his gaze clouded with answerless questions. "Which makes you related to me..."

Lightning nodded, "Yes, that is what I am saying. However, she has little memory of me in the least it seems, perhaps the reason you didn't know that sooner." Lightning's tail flicked side to side as he tried to pick out what was running through his mind.

Lightning observed the young male for a brief moment, "Is everything alright?" He wondered aloud to Hediki, his silence growing to be a bit nerve racking.
