We Turn Green (OPEN - Sick Plot Pt2) [Old]

Swift sat on the edge of the camp, her heart plumeted down to her stomach, which crawled as if it were filled with maggots. However, she was not one of the sick, but indeed one who had brought it. She felt like a fox. Clever as can be, but too stupid to realize when danger stared it in the face, willing to take it head on even if the odds seemed toiled with by none other then the Earth wolf. She shook her head feeling miserable, she noticed the foul stench! 'Why didn't I say anything! Swift, your stupidity is going to get you stuck a subordninate for Sky-wolves knows how long!' She thought bitterly to herself. Her throat felt tightened up with bitterness, her eyes glossed like she were about to cry over some dumb mistake that could cost the lives of her packmates.

Ceiko writhed in his nest, he had eaten the prey eagerly upon its arrival. He noticed the foul stench, but he was so hungry from skipping out on meals. It was so delicious despite the rank smell it carried. He had few regrets of eating it at first where he gained nothing more then minor tummy troubles. However he had been throwing up all day. He swore if he threw up any more, his stomach would come out his throat with all the yellow foamy liquids inside it.

The young male felt absolutely terrible. He never should have eaten it. He felt hot despite the freezing temperatures, and his stomach was mad and bitter with the foul prey he had eaten out of a mere desperation for food. Oh how wrong he had been to do so!

Hoja sat curled up beside her mother and brother, her stomach twisting in pain just as much as everyone else. She had seen the elk as a tasty treat and eargly dug into the lucky catch when it had arrived at the den site.

Soba was laying in the common den, trying his best to ignore his stomach pains.

Elpis sat alone in the healer den. She noticed something odd in the atmosphere around camp. Why so still? Why so silent? She thought before poking her head out. The camp seemed almost empty to as she looked out aside from the few wolves here and there. She caught sight of 302, whom appeared to be watching as well. She was cautious to approach him, as she was somewhat familiar with his actions of the past. This is business, and your concerns are not to be brushed off. She thought as she approached him.

Avikii scanned the den site, it was obvious most of his wolves were sick, and for that he blamed himself. He should have payed closer attention to why the elk were so easy to catch, he should have tried to sniff out anything out of the ordinary, even if it seemed the surface of their fur was clean when it obviously wasn't. A thud from nearby caught his attention and the male quickly turned around to see Shade flop to the ground. Avikii let out a growl of frustration, baring his teeth. This situation wasn't getting any better, if I'm going to act it must be now. He straightened his face, leaving his irritation behind.

The male then stood up, padding over to his daughter, Swift who thankfully hadn't gotten sick from the elk. It was his job as alpha to control this situation, so that he would do.

"Swift, do you think you can round up every sick wolf?" He asked softly, lowering his muzzle down to the she-wolf's height. "I need to get this situation under control and can't do it myself." It took a lot for him not to avert his gaze to the side.

Grey movement caught in the corner of the Casanova's eye, 302 turned his head to get a glimpse at the approaching she-wolf. Elpis? The healer? What could she want with me?

The shadowy male brushed aside his questions, and placed that classic smirk of his upon his muzzle. "It's awfully sick out here, you going to do anything?"

Axolotl let out a massive moan that shook his stomach. "Urggh." He sighed as he dropped down. What am i going to do about this?

Elpis stopped once she arrived in front of him. Am I going to do anything? What kind of question is that? She thought before responding, "It is my duty to do so, but I must gather some information first. The look upon your face tells me you know a little more about the epidemic than I. Would you care to share with me what you know? I understand that something is starting to arise, but I need to know from what so that we can prevent it from spreading further. " She emphasized the we because she wasn't going to let him sit back and watch as others were hurting. Her tone resonated with some assertion, a tone in which she was familiar with using as she was used to taking orders.

Avikii watched as Swift gruffly obliged and turned to head out into the center of camp, he let his gaze trail after her as she left, but quickly turned his attention to 302 and Elpis, who he realized had struck up a conversation.

302 blinked, eyeing Elpis at first before flicking his tail. "Sure I've got information, a patrol brought back that rotted elk." He used his muzzle to gesture toward the day-old elk meat that had been dropped in the corner of camp after a hunt. "The patrol, I remember it consisting of Avikii, Swift..." He thought for a moment. "Leafa, Khari, and possibly Hediki if I remember correctly." He let his optics flick away from the she-wolf for the time being. "I saw them return with the elk."

"If you want more insight, go find them." He huffed, looking in her direction again. "That's all I know."

((Ooc if theres something wrong with Elpis being like this I'll adjust ))

Elpis nodded with an 'mhm,' but then smirked. "Well, you also knew the dangers in eating the meat before and didn't utter a word, and that makes you partly responsible for what is going on. I don't know you all that well," she paused, " but I expect you wouldn't want your name written on this outbreak," she took a breath," basically, there are going to be a lot of cases and I am still new to this field, so I am going to need some assistance. I'll get to help my pack and you'll look better in front of everyone for helping as well." She turned away and ended the conversation there. He wasn't going to get the last word out of her. From there she headed towards the medical den, her eyes being caught by the victims of the illness, particularly Shade, whom she went to in a hurry.

((OOC~ Shade, I thought your character Shade had fainted? If so, maybe edit your post a bit so it doesn’t seem like she had suddenly woke up within moments after falling, keep it realistic (; ))

302 huffed, staying quiet for a moment before answering, taking his time to think of a clever reply. "Hardly, the sick scent of the elk was hardly noticeable at first, that’s why the entire patrol saw past it." He replied, glancing behind him at the sound of Shade stirring. "However, I’ll be glad to help you, only due to the fact that if I do, the pack would think higher of me." He confessed, knowing how much trouble he had gotten into in the past, and recently even. He didn’t bother to explain more. "What do we do then, oh wise healer?" He questioned, preventing himself from smirking again.
