Arrow trotted slowly around the bend on her way back to camp. She had taken the patrol route backwards, from one far boarder to the next, which was roughly twice the extent of a normal patrol. However, it was late in the afternoon and no wolf accompanied her, it was merely another training exercise she had. She ran and walked with great speed, all in hopes to rebuild her lost strength.
As she was walking along her way to take a rest at camp, a sound caught her off guard from a distance not all too far. She turned to leap over a thick hedge. It was, somewhat, graceful (even though it really wasn't, she totally tripped).
Arrow scented the air and looked for where the noise came from. What she came to find, however, was a scent she recognized easily. The soft, milky scent that was a pup. She quickly hurried closer towards the scent, until she found it, a small young pup... Sombra

The young pup let out a tiny howl, a desperate plea for help. Barely a moon old, she had no idea where she came from. All she remembered was being dropped here, onto the blanket of snow, and being suddenly alone. And her name - Sombra. Where it had come from, she didn't know. She just knew it was hers, and she clung to it like a lifeline. The little wolf shivered in the cold, fur on end.
Sombra blinked at the sound of footsteps. There's a chance, after all...
More than a chance.
All of a sudden, the pup found herself looking face-to-face with an older wolf. Her eyes widened, startled. The odds of this were one in a million. She could live. Or she would die anyway - who knew what this stranger's intentions were? "W-who are you?"

"My name is Arrow, are you lost love?" She asked the pup, she took note of how cold and frightened the pup seemed, and bowed down to her level. She did it almost instinctively, hoping to be less frightening to the pup.
She pittied her in a sense, with suspicions that she may be abandoned. Her heart ached for her, and burned with an anger as to why anyone could ever abandon their own pup. Another part of her, however, was slightly hopeful this to be true. Not only because whatever danger a mother wolf passing by could deem on her, but the fact that she would have some larger purpose to her life other then the stress of trying to prove herself yet again to an alpha, more then ever.

"Y-yes. I don't know w-where I am, I don't know how I g-got here...I just know my n-name. I'm S-Sombra." The pup curled up into a ball, trying to preserve heat, but she kept her gaze fixed on Arrow. The pack wolf seemed so...amazing. Big and strong, well fed compared to her tiny body on the brink of death. Sombra blinked, still hardly believing it. There was one thing she could do now, anyway.
"C-can I come? With you?"
Arrow was the only chance she had, and though she was young, Sombra knew she wasn't wasting it.

Arrow's theories had been true. She nodded, a warm smile on her muzzle, "of course love." She said licking the top of the pups head with an almost motherly instinct. She then reached around to the young pup's scruff and picked her up gently in her jaws. She looked around and found an easier route to get out then she had come in, taking the pup back towards the den site with a quick pace.

Sombra nodded, a small smile forming on her face, She squirmed a little a Arrow picked her up, the gesture unfamiliar to her. Licking the top of her head? It was an odd sensation, but..she liked it. It felt almost loving, like...she was wanted. The pup let out a small, contented bark, looking up at Arrow as she was carried. In her eyes, this wolf was a savior, and she knew that when she was older, she wanted to return the favour.

Arrow's tail waved slightly with happiness as she carried the pup, hearing her happy bark. She was glad to know that this pup had been one easy to take in and not rebelious of any sort. A pup so young needed help, yet sometimes, males in particular often thought otherwise. She thought briefly of storm, wondering what made him think he could care for himself enough to abandon his pack to a place where even where he slept, he needed to keep one eye open.
She spent little time thinking it over and quickly neared the camp. She was rather short of breath from her rush, and the weight she was not used to carrying, but satisfied she had held up so well.

Sombra surveyed her surroundings as they arrived at the den site. This place smelt...strange. There were more wolves here, lots more. She felt a little overwhelmed just at the sight of them! But for some reason, none of them looked hostile. It surprised the young pup. Did these wolves know Arrow?
"Where are we? Is this your home?" Sombra asked shyly.

Arrow nodded slightly, "yes, this is the Bison Pack den site. I live here. Packs are very nice, as long as they are yours. No pack would hurt a pup though." She said with a smile to the pup, trying to give her no reason to fear the pack, for there really was none. "A pack is a very great thing. Many wolves group up and they help each other. They live together, bond, find mates and care for pups. They hunt and they fight together." She told Sombra.

Sombra's eyes widened as Arrow spoke. The whole concept was foreign to her - wolves living together, helping each other? It seemed impossible, too good to be true. Would she be safe here? She did very much like the thought of of it.
"Will I...live here?" she asked quietly, not trying to sound too enthusiastic.
