It honestly isn't too bad.
(OOC: This takes place back in the summer of 2016, when the site got rejuvenated) In the past...
It was hot, very hot. The low hanging bright summer sun dangled in the sky, just hardly scraping the top of the distant mountains. The male omega had left the den site prior to the setting sun, sneaking out and remaining unseen. He couldn't have any wolf know where he was going, not even Avikii.Grudge had wandered for most of the day, taking in the neutral sights of the valley, until finally, the brown male paused. He had reached unfamiliar territory. Grudge stopped moving, frozen in place, there was something off about the surroundings. The omega turned around, glancing behind him before whipping his head around to look forward again, blue eyes darting back and forth. "Who's there!" He barked out into the hot air, at nothing. There was no reply. Grudge knew there was something out there, but what exactly? He lifted his muzzle to the air, closing his eyes to prevent the setting sun from hurting them, taking in the scents around him one more time. The Canyon Pack male paused, it was definitely another wolf. It smelt not of the packs, but rather rotten flesh and dead prey that had been sitting in the sun for too long. Just then, as the scent hit his nose, a low mix between a cough and a growl sounded from behind. The male omega found himself turning around in a flash, not daring to waste another moment in wait. To his surprise, a skinny, mangy looking grey wolf with a darkened muzzle and pale, yet somehow deep blue eyes crawled out of the nearby sage brush. "W-who are you!" Grudge demanded, but his only reply was a snicker from the opposing male. |

Malikai, the mangy looking grey male, just snickered at the brown wolf's shaky question.
"Who I am does not matter, only what I'm about to do to you..." He revealed in a low tone before hacking another cough, clenching his eyes shut as the rasping sound shook his body.
The dark muzzled male took in a whiff of the surrounding air, "you smell of the packs." Malikai growled, taking a step closer to the smaller, yet stronger looking male. "You shouldn't be here, this is rogue lands." The thin wolf informed, quite irritated that the intruder had been mouse-brained enough to wander this far from his safe, beloved pack home.
In a few movements, the male found himself closing in on the other and slowly began to circle him.
"I suggest you get out of here while you still can..." Malikai hissed through gritted teeth, leaning in to snap at the brown male's ear. He drew a bit of blood.

Grudge flinched back at the rogue's reply, "I-I have a right to know!" He pressed, taking a step back once he noticed that the other male was now closing in on him, one intimidating paw step at a time.
The brown male yelped at the sudden sting along the top of his ear tip, and sooner than expected he felt the small drop of warm blood dribble down the inside of his ear. His pale blue gaze swung back toward the rogue, he could tell by the look in his eyes that he wasn't finished.
The air soon filled with the hot scent of the metallic liquid, Grudge stopped himself from shaking.
"I come here in peace! I'm alone, my pack doesn't know I've left!" He added, a hint of a begging tone to his voice. He was pleading. He knew what rogue wolves did, especially the lone ones without a place to be. "Please... Let me explain myself." The omega said once more, desperation rolling off his tongue as he watched the other wolf start shifting around again.

"You have no rights!" Malikai howled, saliva flying from his yellowed teeth as he opened his mouth to shout the words at the pack wolf's face. He snapped his muzzle shut once more, yet this time in front of the other's muzzle, without hurting him.
The dark muzzled male calmed himself down, shuffling his paws before finding a comfortable way, yet prepared way to stand in place, he was nose to nose with the brown pack wolf.
"So, you claim your pack has no idea where you are? How long have you been gone?" Malikai questioned this opponent, casting a quick, side ways glance at the setting sun, which had now moved its way half way behind the mountain peaks. The rogue shifted his gaze to the other side, the east now, where it seemed this wolf had come from.
After taking in a quick whiff of the air again, he concluded that the pack wolf was in fact alone, but how log would that last?

For the second time, Grudge flinched away. He wasn't usually like this, he was a closed off wolf, presumed to be afraid of nothing, to be altered by nothing. He lowered his gaze, flicking his ears back, cringing at the sudden pain that shot up from his new injury.
"Like I said before, they don't know I've left." He snapped, but quickly regretted his short-tempered behavior. "I left my territory around mid day." The omega answered quietly, almost mumbling the words and making them practically inaudible.
Grudge kept his eyes focused on the ground.

Malikai cursed under his breath, that silent curse turning into a growl at the pack wolf continued to speak.
"You've been gone since mid day? What the hell are you doing out so long!" He barked, fur bristling at this male's idiocy. "They've noticed you've been gone for sure, perhaps they're even out looking for you." The dark muzzled male began to pace slowly, which grew faster with every step.
"It's nearly sun down, just look!" He directed his muzzle toward the west, where the sun continued to set.
"Your pack will come out looking for you, they'll follow your scent trail... Which will lead them, to me." Maliaki snarled again, getting to the brown males face. Feeling his own hot breath bounce back toward him after ramming into the pack wolf's muzzle. He backed up, but only slightly.
"We can't have that happen, now can we?" He sneered, eyeing the other male with a cocked brown, blue eyes frosty and dull, hiding his thoughts.
The rogue paused, a questionable, crooked smirk forming along his lips.
"I should just kill you now." Malikai suggested in a low, hidden tone, his own gaze locking with the other.

"No, please." Grudge began to back up, his hind legs shrinking as he stumbled backward, away from the looming, yet oddly thin rogue wolf.
"I've come here with reason!" He yipped, trying to convince the rogue otherwise, that there wasn't a reason to kill him. "Let me explain!"
Why would he do that? Is he insane!? Grudge's gaze flicked from the ground and back up to the grey male. He had family back at the den site, well, it was only his brother... But family nonetheless!
His worried, fearful gaze shot back toward the rogue.

Malikai merely sneered.
"Better safe than sorry." He said simply in a low, monotone voice.
That's when he started to grow closer to the other male, taking slow, intimidating steps. Then suddenly, he lunged, fore paws outstretched and claws itching to shred fur and skin down to the bone.
In a single leap Malikai was on top of the pack wolf, easily pinning him to the ground. "I don't want your excuses..." He barked smoothly, despite his raspy voice and dank breath. In a single swipe to the chest with readied, sharp claws, blood was spewing. The scarlet liquid oozed from the deep wound. But oh-ho, this wasn't the only gash Malikai planned on leaving. He wanted to deliver a slow, regret filled death to the male.
No pack wolf crosses my land and gets away with it! The dark muzzled wolf thought as he struck the brown male once more in the same spot, causing an even heavier blood flow.

"No! Wait!" Grudge screeched.
It was too late. The moment he felt the strong, yet skinnier wolf's weight press into his flank he knew there was no escape. Just a worthless hope that his pack-mates did in fact realize he had been gone for a while and had come to look for him.
Please, find me, he thought as his chest began to sting with pain. The rogues jagged, unkept claws left dirty cuts, cuts that could easily get quickly infected. Grudge let out an agonized wail. The way this rogue had him pinned left him hopeless in escape, it hurt to wriggle around.
He had no choice to endure the slow pain.

The pathetic pack wolf's cries of pain was music to Maliaki ears, it only pressed him to go further.
"When your pack mates finally realize you're gone and come to look for you, they'll find you dead right here, right where I left you." He lifted his muzzle to the air, letting out a maniacal laugh before using his upper body strength to jab his fore paws down on his chest with so much force, he swore he heard a rib crack. Malikai merely grinned.
Blood began to well at the new puncture wound, which made the dark muzzled male to lift his paws away from the pack wolf's chest, droplets of crimson fell to the ground, splattered the earth red.
Malikai now leaned inward, lowering himself toward the brown male's face.
"Let your savage death be a lesson to the rest of your pack." He spat, saliva flying once more. "Don't mess with me, or any other rogue around here."
With those final words, Malikai turned, and trotted off back the way he had appeared. Not even bothering to clean the blood from his paws.

Grudge let out one final cry of pain before choking, before choking on his own blood.
He found it hard to breathe, his vision went blurry, he could hardly hear what the rogue had to say and could hardly see him walking away. Leaving Grudge to die there. To rot.
The pain in his chest grew with every breath, and every time he tried to move, to get up, it just made him hurt worse. There was a stabbing pain in his lungs, probably from when the dark muzzled opponent slammed his paws into Grudge's chest. He must have broken a few of my ribs, he thought vaguely, his mind spinning from blood loss and unbearable pain.
The omega tried to call out, but it was worthless. His calls were muted by his pain.
Soon, he just gave up, his body beginning to numb over. The male let his head flop sideways onto the ground and let his eyes slowly fall.
...
Stars. He saw stars. Little fizzles of light here and there. Everything was numb. He shot upright, the numbness curing him of his pain. I-I can walk? How? The male stood easily, four legs sturdy and not shaky at all. Numb yes, but he was still standing. He took a few glances around, unable to really feel anything.
That's when he realized it.
Upon looking at his paws, there he saw himself. Crumpled and broken, bleeding heavily. The male jumped back in fear, his heart racing, eyes darting around, trying to get a grip on reality. What was his reality now?
"Hey, it's alright brother." A soft voice spoke from behind.
He spun around again, almost falling helplessly to the ground. I can't believe it. "Ravi!" He yelped, flinging himself at his sister. "Where have you been?" He held back tears, tail wagging harder than ever. Just then, more figures appeared.
"Father!" He couldn't beileve what was happening. I thought they were dead!
There, his mother, Urban. His father, Rowan, and his two lost siblings, Ravi and Luper. They all appeared from thin air.
"Grudge, you're dead." They all seemed to echo. He paused, tail falling motionless, and hanging behind his legs. Dead? He glanced around, the territory he had last seen had faded and dulled away, leaving darkness, yet not frightening darkness, it was a warm darkness, one that told him everything was going to be alright. He took a few more glances around before gathering his thoughts. He began to speak up.
"It's alright, my time had to come sometime." He found himself oddly at peace, then spoke again, very softly. "As long as I'm with my family."
