Koga and Kane walked through the Canyon territory, they had planned a hunt together, one as brother and sister. It had been a while since the two had hunted togetehr so Koga looked forward to today.
She looked at Kane "you think we will be able to get an elk?" she asked excitedly.

Kane looked at his sister and smiled "I bet we will!" he said happily, and continued forward. He could see the elk hunting grounds ahead, and the fresh scent of the elk covered his nose.
"Let's start to be quiet" he suggested now that they were getting closer to the herd.

Koga nodded and didn't answer, since she wanted to be quiet.
They got close to the herd, and began to look for an elk that looked to be an easy target. "Over there" she whispered to her brother, pointing at a girl elk that had strayed away from the herd, she was grazing.

Kane looked over and saw the elk, "let's approach it, i'll take left you take right" he suggested and didn't wait for an answer before stalking away through the bushes, staying hidden and quiet.

Koga took a deep breath, ok. She moved forward, keeping her eyes on the elk as she moved through the bushes.
She was now close, still hidden, she could see Kane on the otherside, they were close enough to see eachother.

Koga held her breath.
1...
She jumped out of the bushes, she yowled a threat at the elk but as she went to jump forward, the elk kicked back in fear. She could feel a stinging pain in his face where its hoof hit, and she fell back, she was very dizzy from the hit, its kick had rattled her brain. She stumbled back and tripped, falling to the ground.

Kane looked up in shock, "Koga!" he called, before he could run over to her, he watched the elk rear up, and begin to turn around towards the fallen Koga.

Koga watched wide eyed as the elk reared up behind her, she curled closer to the ground her face throbbed with pain.
Then a new pain hit her, in the hind let. She let out a wail as the elk's hoof landed on her hind leg as it began to run away, and a cracking noise sounded through the air. She looked down at her hind leg, it was all crumpled where the elk had stood on it.

Kane shook his head, feeling terrible for his sister. "I will help you back to the den site" he said, he let her lean against him as she tried to stand up again. They were slow, but they began to hobble back to the den site, Koga leaning against him.
