Avikii jumped up on the high stone, today he would rank up some wolf least expected to. Koga. She had recently been in a serious accident while out elk hunting, it was now almost a week later, her injury has healed enough to where she could hobble on it, but due to winter's limited resources there would be no way Elpis could have completely healed the broken bone.
Koga had been with Canyon Pack since the start, it pained the alpha slightly to see how much she had aged alongside him. Avikii shook away his thoughts, he had a pack meeting to commence. The male lifted his muzzle to the air, letting out a quick howl to call together his pack mates.

Koga hobbled out of the medical den, where she had been getting care from Elpis. Oh Elpis, thank the sky-wolves for her, for all koga knew she could've died! she moved out into the clearing, sitting down. She knew what this was for, even if she was still young enough to hunt at least, it was time.

Avikii watched as Koga hobbled forward, eyeing the bundle that was bound to her hind leg. He pulled his gaze away, and began to speak. "I have called you all together today to witness an elder ceremony," he started, pausing, trying to think of what to say. "Koga, it is understood that you can no longer hunt for battle with a crippled leg, please step forward."
He felt bad for saying the last part, knowing it would be difficult.

Koga moved forward to the front of the crowd, careful on her paws as she weaved her way between wolves, she took a seat at the base of the stone.

Avikii waited as she shuffled forward before speaking once more, "You have served your pack well over these few years." He dipped his head slightly, "Upon request you will gain the rank of elder, as an elder of the pack you will live out the rest of your days in peace." He took a sharp breath in, "Koga, I hereby give you the rank of elder, pass your tales onto those younger, and know you will always be appreciated."
The alpha stopped, hoping what he said was alright, this is the first time he had to give a wolf the rank of elder.

Koga dipped her head. she would have to get used to being an elder, being unable to hunt or battle, at least she would see pups more, she knew how much the younger wolves liked stories.
