Soba lead the way to the hunting grounds where he had seen a few deer the day before. He turned around and eyes Shade and Axolotl, "alright enough talk, you two can sort that out later." He smiled at them, remembering when he had asked Leafa to be his mate, until they left each other. "there should be deer around here, start searching, we'll meet up again later." he insisted then turned around.
Hoja glanced at Shade and Axolotl then turned to follow after her father, knowing the pair would want time alone.

Axolotl merely nodded before heading off with Shade on a trail of deer scent. "See anything?" he asked his new mate wanting to see if she had great hunting skills. He scanned the area around him for any brown or russet colors, and there it was a big deer about the size of a small shrub was a few tail lengths to the right.

Shade started to smell the wind, letting all the smell hit into her nose, moments later then she whispered ''By this way'' she flicked her tail to an run off to a clearing, there was a little group of deers the most of them where females but just two of them where males. One of them where was the one that Axolotl had seen, for they lucky the deer was a female, and she had got far away from the group, enough to kill it.

Soba lead Hoja toward a spot he knew best, a spot he had often seen deer resting. He paused, seeing a young deer on the horizon, "look" he pointed with his muzzle, so that his daughter could see the deer. "let's surround it I'll take the left." He said then turned and headed off.
Hoja saw the deer, staying quiet as she nodded to her father. She stalked around the deer on its right side, waiting fir Soba's signal.
Soba eyed Hoja from his spot, he gave a curt nod before leaping out into the open, his swift movements catching the deer off guard as he felt his claws slash its side.
Hoja jumped out after Soba, biting down on the deer's neck.

Shade run beside Hoja and Soba, and bite the elk's back hardly.

Axolotl leapt on-top of the elk and pinned it down. The big prey fell down with a moan before dying. Another successful hunt for Canyon pack! Especially with Shade he felt proud that they had brought down this big elk.

Kastor watched at the collective work and how it proved strong in bringing down the elk. Hope fully this one won't be like the one before. He thought. He turned and saw as a youth ran away. As much as they needed the food, they shouldn't attack the young lest the next generation of food go missing and leave a break in the hunting season.

Soba lifted his muzzle, grinning at their successful kill. He turned and looked at Shade and Axolotl, he was surprised to see them, thinking they had gone off on their own. "Thank you," he barked, happy they had helped to kill the elk.
Hoja smiled, her first kill!

Soba looked over toward Axolotl with a smile, "this will be enough till the next patrol heads out. Let's take its remains to the den site." Soba replied, and began to rip parts of the elks meat from its flank.
