CLOSED TO: Elpis
Ceiko sat at the edge of the camp, he knew the Elpis was perhaps busy, her location being in camp or outside searching for herbs was beyond his knowledge. He shifted uneasily on his paws, wishing that he had a better idea of where she was. He almost looked sick. He wanted to ask someone, but feared that she would be but a short distance and others would soon notice, or that he would go to the medicine den calling for her, and she wouldn't even be anywhere near. His ears flicked backwards, his stomach in knots. He decided perhaps he should talk to Elpis and get her take, but found it hard to even find her to begin with.

Elpis entered camp after retrieving a few herbs that she carried between clenched jaws. Her steps were light as she headed into the medical den to set them down. She spoke aloud to herself, "that ought to be enough for now." She organized what she had brought back into piles and then turned away. She walked back to the entrance of the den and laid down. She closed her eyes for the moment and took a breath, then sighed, opening her eyes once more.

Ceiko's ears flicked at the familiar sound of Elpis' voice. He stood up and walked towards her slowly, "Elpis?" He asked, hoping he was facing the correct direction. He walked slowly towards her, going the right direction, but not managing to meet her eyes. "Can I talk to you?" He asked, facing a different direction then she was, his ears laid back, hoping even if he wasn't facing the right direction, that nobody else would notice.

Elpis perked her ears at the sound of her name. She turned to see Ceiko approaching. He seemed a little 'off' to her. What could be the matter? She thought as he got closer. "Yes you may," she said before standing. She took note of his inability to face her. Is he shy? Does he not wish to face me directly or is he embarrassed to ask me for help? Thoughts buzzed through her head as she tried to pick apart the situation before the conversation went any further.
Elpis noticed as his ears began to fall back on his head. Something was certainly troubling him enough that he didn't want to be seen her as he was. "Would you like to take this inside?" She said in a soft voice followed by a smile.

Ceiko turned his 'gaze' towards the ground, "yes, that would be nice, thank you. If you don't mind, lead the way." He said, hoping the sound of her pawsteps, even as light as they were, could be enough for him to follow.

Ceiko followed her carefully, his ears alert as he traced her steps to the den. Ceiko let out a sigh, "I don't want to become an elder." He said finally, pausing to listen to her reaction before explaining the rest.

Elpis sat back a bit in shock. How could someone younger than herself so me how be an elder already? She paused tryingof a way to lighten the mood, but she knew it that she needed to get straight to business. "Why would you be an elder?" She asked. That was all that mattered. Why.

Ceiko let out a huff of breath, "please, do not tell anyone, especially Avikii yet. Lily is the only other wolf to know. I don't know what I'd do if you don't take me as your novice. It's my only option left... as a blind wolf."

Elpis felt a chill in her spine. The last time she'd met a blind wolf was, "Broken," she paused, "you're her offspring aren't you?" She didn't know him all that well as when she was younger she was always running about and around camp. Broken had made her who she was. Now who she was was going to impact Ceico's life too. Even if they weren't really related they were almost like siblings because the same female had raised them, and she felt that that made him her responsibility now that Broken was gone and 302 wasn't going to bother to tale part in his son's life.
Elpis sighed with a smile. "Do not worry, Ceico. I will never tell another soul." She put a paw on his shoulder. "Your mother once care for me when no one else would. Now I'll return the favor by protecting your future," she paused again, "you didn't want to be considered an elder so you're fighting the system and hiding your flaws from superiors. That takes courage. Yes you can be my novice, but that will never take away from the warrior in your heart."

Ceiko felt a rush of hot embarrassment wash over him, "well yes, for now at least. Once I feel more confident about my maneuvering, I'll have to tell Avikii because there is no way I will be able to balance both forever. I just need enough of a skill to show him I can do something even though I'm blind." He said softly, his eyes on the ground, as he recalled the few times he had made a successful hunt but the satisfaction in his Alpha's eyes.. at the time when he could see... or even just hear anything in his voice.. was little to none.

Elpis thought for a moment. "Well, start at the basics. Which of your sense do you feel is the strongest as of right now? From there you can use that to navigate better. Unless it's taste of course." She laughed a little.

Ceiko shook his head, his blind eyes rolling at the sound of her sarcastic tone. "I would have to say it's my sense of smell, but my hearing is somewhat close in comparison." He responded, a thoughtful look on his face as he tried to determine the answer to her question.

Elpis nodded, although this was mostly for herself as she knew he wouldn't be able to actually see her make any head motions. "If you are going to be my novice then I'd suggest focusing on your sense of smell, as I'm sure you can't hear any herbs walking about," she said. Although some things could be dangerous to take in a full waft of. She thought and then added in," but be sure that you do not abuse this as you may end up putting your nose into something that could be toxic to the smell. With that being said, improving your hearing would help you in dangerous situations. If you can hear an enemy approaching or even the air beneath his paws as he prepares an attack, you may be a better asset than those whom can see," she said with a smile.

Ceiko nodded slowly in response to the somewhat older she-wolf. He flicked his tail a bit as he took in the information she gave him, "so that being said, what are you going to do? Where is training going to begin?" He asked curious if she is going to be helping him with a bit of battle training, or instead with taking the different scents apart from certain herbs. His ear flicked forth and then back, just double checking there were no others listening into their conversations.

"Let's start small and go over how different herbs and such smell. This way you will have that skill at the least," Elpis said standing and started to pad around the space a bit. "As for fighting, well I'm no expert, but I'll do my best to teach you what I know about strategy and taking in knowledge of your surroundings. It is better to understand the situation and mold it to your benefit before you go head first into a conflict." She looked over to where her herbs were organized. "Due to the cold season I have not had many successes in finding all the materials I require to keep this pack healthy, so that makes for a small area to begin testing your sense of smell. We shall training your defending and fighting capabilities later with the help of someone whom knows the ins and outs of it, a wolf whom your are comfortable with that is."

Ceiko nodded, trying to think of a wolf who may be willing to help him. He rolled over the possibilities in his mind, he considered Lily, but fret over what a fool he would look like in the process. There was also Swift, but after recent events he wasn't all too pleased with her. Not to mention as she strove to become a Lead Warrior, and perhaps one day attain the position of Alpha as her father is, she has become all too busy. He shook his pelt just slightly to dismiss the thoughts for the moment and focus on the task at paw. "So,...?" He trailed off, waiting for instruction, but finding it hard to get much from Elpis.
