C l o s e d ~~ Misha and Jasper
Misha - Quartz
The rusty colored pelt wandered through the dry lands of the Upland Meadows. Shrubs were spaced here and there, the ground was overgrown with brown, dry grass which waved around in the wind, acting as a clothing for the landscape. Rocks were also to be seen on certain spots. For his coat, he could blend in quite well if it was not for the darker tips of his back and ribs, as well as his ears and head. The air smelled strongly of dryness, and the heat was beginning to raise minute after minute. The young male's tongue started to slip out as he breathed with his mouth open, feeling the muscle definition of his jaws relax slightly.
The two dark citrine optics started on a search for a bit of shade.. but on this part of the lands there was not really much to look at. A small piece of hope started to thrive in his chest as he saw a rather large rock up ahead - with a nice spot of shade to rest in. He was determined to get there as fast as he possibly could... and again didn't look where he was going. The young body found itself tripping over a root and he gave a loud bark, crashing chin-first into the grass. He groaned, moaned, and got back onto his feet, mumbling to himself as he walked towards the shaded spot, collapsed on the ground and sighed deeply.

The thick-cloaked yearling strode leisurely along the treacherous terrain, brief bounds lifting her prance. Her ears perked, erected and alert, whilst her expression remained nonchalant. She hadn't been wandering for very long, at least, not in the Upland Meadows. The area was foreign to her, however her adventurous antics got the best of her and the young one found herself roaming the unfamiliar valley, noting how... eerily barren it was, unlike any other region she'd have yet to see. Jasper's glare lifted to the skies as ash tinted blankets set over the horizon, her tail following the wisps of cool air she received every so often. She found enjoyment in the cool winter's air and the soft, nearly melted snow underneath her ebony pads as she trekked on. She might not reveal it, but numbness gradually began to nip at her ankles and down, not only from the frigid climate and icy paths, but also from her lack of rest.
However, Jasper drew to a smooth halt as the faint echo of what sounded like a bark of... some sorts. She couldn't decipher the origin of the signal, though her glare told otherwise. Her golden honey orbs swiftly examined the surrounding territory, her fur bristling with urgency and yet excitement, which she hadn't witnessed in months. Soon enough, the strong aroma of another canine flooded into her nostrils as the female embraced a step forward, ascending her nose even higher than before. Jasper caught on to which direction the origin was located, and almost immediately afterwards, began after it, only managing to flow deeper into the unknown area.
"H-hello?" She called out, faint echoes trailing moments after another. Her hackles remained lifted, and her heart raced, the beating ringing in her ears- almost as if she was on an adrenaline rush. With cupped forward ears, she awaited a response from within the distance. Hopefully.

(OOC - yelp... sorry for writing such a novel...)
The dry air of the Upland Meadows slowly started to cool off with a small breeze coming up from the side. The cold blowing in between his thick fur was rather satisfying... since he was more built for winter- and snow conditions then summer and sun. Birds had just begun to whistle in the distance, filling the air with their humorous happiness of a new day beginning. He could hear bugs walking and swirling through the air, as well as coyotes barking in the far distance. All the familiar sounds felt all in the background, as if they were just always there.
The life of a loner felt so good - yet so... lonely. Instead of choosing to stay with his birth pack, he left for adventure... and to know what it's like to live for yourself. Although, hunting was another story. There was nothing like bringing down a large Elk or Bison, or even a Mule. Everything had to be small prey. Not to start mentioning predators... one dispersal versus a cougar - or even worse - a bear, was only looking for trouble. And even if he managed to hunt down something bigger than a hare, such as the rare Pronghorns, he always have to surrender his food to a large predator sooner than later.
In his endless thoughts, the two dark citrine's started to fall closed. His muscles had successfully relaxed and his breathing and heartbeat was slow and calm. He was almost fast asleep, but an unfamiliar vocalic sound filled the air behind him, leaving his head shooting upwards. His ears were perked as he closely listened. Yes... there was someone speaking from the other side of his rock. His nose searched the air as he lifted his muzzle upwards, scanning through the various scents that filled the area. Finally, it came across his nose. The scent of yet another canine. Curiosity replaced every tensed feeling as he slowly got back onto his feet, going into a trot towards the place he had heard the voice.
The rusty male finally came around the rock which provided him shade, and the sight of a tawny she-wolf. Her fur was a mixture of perfectly shaded brown, black and white, with two honey orbs looking into his direction. The male froze for a minute, inspecting the appearance of the female before allowing a light smile onto his face, paired with a gentle wave of his bushy tail. The dark tips of the fur over his shoulders, back and head still moved with the gentle breeze, as he stood there, which felt like hours, gathering guts to go over.
After a minute or so of dead silence, we was sure that she was friendly... she sounded so in anyways. His paws felt glued to the ground, but he managed to start motioning himself closer, rather slowly. Although his shoulders and jaws were tense, he was more excited and curios than anything vicious, if that word could even be matched with him. "Hi..." his vocal cords allowed him to speak out. Once he was about half a meter away from her, his paws stopped moving. His ears flicked and his tail kept on waving, and he tried his best to keep a calm posture. "I'm.. Misha." he said as an introduction. Although he wanted to add more, the slightest uncertainty prevented him from doing so. "Who are you?" he managed to add, locking his lips not to overwhelm her with too many words - which might scare her off. Instead he kept quiet, waiting for her to say something.

Seconds felt as though hours as she young female stood here in complete silence, her eyes positioned ahead of her, continually examining the area in front of her and beyond. Her fur began to relax across her spine, however her muscles told another story. They remained vividly constricted, ready to flee if the need were to rise. She was concerned for who released the bark, however nothing was revealing it's presence- nothing other than herself. Jasper opened her jaws once again, prepared to bark a second time, just when the silhouette of another wolf appeared behind a large boulder, their physique almost a mirror image to her's. She shut her mouth, and her throat locked up for a few seconds to keep herself from saying something completely stupid. Instead, the young fae kept herself still, with her tail falling limp and her ears remaining stiff. The other canine gradually began to walk towards her, rather than away. The gesture was rather surprising to Jasper, considering all the others she's encountered in the past had avoided her, which she could never figure out why. Perhaps, she found some potential for her.
The male halted, his coat compiled with various warm browns and bronzes, such as her own. He looked a few months older and herself as well. The she-wolf took a single step forward, extending her nose toward him, however once he spoke up, it caused her neck to recoil. So his name is Misha she noted, returning his small grin. He appeared cordial, so she'd return the gesture. "My name is Jasper," she introduced herself, her muscles loosening briefly. She decided she'd explain the reason for coming here, so she did. "I came here because I heard a bark not far from here..." Jasper had no idea how to continue with her statement, so she praised that Misha knew what she was talking about, and perhaps noticed the slight spark of concern in her voice.

The rusty male's muzzle shifted into a slight, inviting smile as she introduced herself. Jasper - she mentioned - was her name. Her coat was thick, perfectly shaded of dark wooden brown, arctic white and midnight black. There was a golden shine in her eyes, revealing her curious and friendly nature. By her stance she seemed friendly, and by the looks of it, she was still a young female, probably just a few months under him.
His ears flicked twice when she mentioned hearing a bark. "Oh yeah the bark... that was me.." he admitted, shifting his rusty optics towards his paws to hide the slightest feeling of embarrassment. "I tripped over a root when I was not looking at the ground." he added, pawing the dirt with his right claws. His eyes came back up after a minute, meeting with the tawny she-wolfs. "Are you... alone?" he inquired towards her. It seemed like such a sharp question... but it would be better to know from the start if she is affiliated with one of the nearby groups or not.

The female couldn't resist a brief chuckle as the male admitted the bark was his own. Her grin widened briefly and her muscles relaxed almost completely. She nodded slightly as he explained the reason as to why he signaled the bark. "We've all done that at least one," she replied, her tone laced in sarcasm. She departed her glare from his and onto the boulder that now set a distance behind him. Her brow arched in mild curiosity. She opened her jaws, as in to speak, just when she was cut short by the male's question.
His inquire was rather odd, at least to Jasper. She hadn't really been questioned that before. "Er... yes. I am alone," she couldn't lie, mainly because she would have anything to back her statement up. It was obvious. This male couldn't be that gullible. "Are you?" She followed her reply up with a question of her own, her gaze returning to his.

The male's posture relaxed to the maximum. His mouth hung slightly open with his tongue hanging out a little, breathing small, damp clouds within the cold air around them. She seemed to be nice. He took a moment to process her words, and her inquiry as well. "Yes - I'm also alone." he replied with a smile. Finally he struck a young loner - as himself - who didn't scurry away the moment she saw him.
The sound of a sudden barking of coyotes made his ears flick and his head turn into the direction of where the ruckus came from. "Let's go check it out-" he suggested, motioning his head for her to walk beside him. Silence fell between the two as they walked closer to where the barking was heard, but it felt a bit too quiet. "So.." his vocals led themselves, as he glanced sideways to see her orbs again. He could swear she wanted to say something before... right before he came with his inquiring questions. Perhaps, just maybe, she would bring up what she wanted to say again, because it was again, having him more curious than ever.

The female nodded leisurely toward the male's response. Yeah sure, she already had a hunch he was, she was just refining the idea. Her ear flicked briefly as the abrupt barks and ructions of distant coyotes began to fill the surrounding air. She altered her snout toward the origins, however her expression remained nonchalant. Perhaps, she had just made a new acquaintance- and perhaps, she wouldn't be alone any longer. The male mentioned about having a look at the commotion, so the yearling took interest in the suggestion. "Sounds good," she briefly added, awaiting until the male had a slight head start before deciding to approach his side. Silence once again began to flood through, soon separating their sparks of attempted conversation. Jasper would admit that, that was more than likely the fasted she's ever made an acquaintance, but only due to the notion that she hadn't met a ton of other canines in her small lifetime, so she wouldn't abuse the thought.
Her honey tinted optics maneuvered to the corner of her eyes, the direction where the male was walking aside her. Her ears flicked briefly as she heard his vocals fall out of his throat, and once he made eye contact with her, her eyes almost immediately shot back to the path ahead of them. Her fur bristled slightly, though she tried her best to settle her nerves. Things were getting quieter and things were getting more awkward. "So..." she spoke, almost inaudibly. Her mind rushed, as if a small wave continually attempting to bring down a large brick wall. What else was there to say? To talk about? "Was that your boulder?" Jasper inquired, trying to make at least some effort to making their situation less awkward.

The male’s head came back upwards as the female finally spoke, inquiring about the place he was resting in. “Well not really… I just found it. I stay wherever I find place.” He said, taking a glance towards her before looking back at their road. “How ‘bout you?” he managed to ask out, as the barking of the coyotes began to echo through the hills. His ears stayed up and alerted, following every sound wave exactly to determine where they were situated. It didn’t sound too far – over a few hills or so. Only meaning one thing: a few hills of awkwardness..
But why the hell would it be so awkward? In his super hyper, adventurous, social and curious personality there was no space for awkwardness… not even the least bit. ‘What is it with you?’ he questioned in his mind, slightly shaking his head in argument with himself. And he was determined to prove that he was still the same young and alive Misha as the day before. “What do you normally do throughout the day?” he said, after scraping together some guts. He allowed his jaws to relax, leaving his tongue sticking out just a little bit, but enough to show her that he was enjoying her presence.

The bronzed cloaked yearling's stride was growing unsteady. She lacked rest, due to her fiery will to explore more range. However now, she was regretting her decisions. Her eyes ducked, resting onto her paws as her pads were falling numb under the soft, fragile snow. Her paws were as if a ball rolling ever so slowly, rolling until it reached a stopping point, never to roll again. She'd rest wherever suited her most, however her options were running thin. Her thoughts flickered to the male that paced aside her. What about him? What if they decided to aid another in survival? Jasper was prone to the suggestion, though wasn't certain where the notion would end her up. She released an inaudible breath as her honey toned optics rested on the path in front of her, small blades of grass peaking through the snow-capped terrain, some strands even managing to thread themselves together, and intertwine another. It was odd, and rather foreign to her, however it was a pleasing site. The young she-wolf never actually found pleasure in the winter winds. They were frigid and ruthless; removing every spark of hope one might be foolish enough to own. Though now, she wasn't so certain about. She had Misha, now.
His words dragged her back into reality, her glare relaxing after they had subconsciously dilated. She praised he hadn't noticed. His actions were similar to her own. Jasper would wander place to place, not really claiming anything as her own, considering there was so much that she had yet to explore. She couldn't support that much tolerance possessing a domain. She'd more than likely hand it to the next vagabond she'd see. However nonetheless, the yearling simply nodded to Misha's reply, not wishing to be ill-mannered about it. She drew in another smooth breath, her pace gradually weakening. They needed to locate a haven soon, or else Jasper would be dragging herself- and her muscles were already raw as it was. Though, the female paused briefly toward his question. What do I usually do? She inquired internally, proceeding onward. "I-It depends..." She commented, her vocals were light, attempting to make an effort at sounding affable- even under her current condition.

The young brute twitched his ears towards the female as she shortly answered him. "Depends on...?" if he could explain his curiosity, he would. But unfortunately his nature didn't allow him to think further than the tip of his nose. The golden optics switched between her and the road, as the howling and sneering of coyotes became louder by the minute. Whatever the fuss was about, they were close, and his curiosity thrived like nothing could ever dream of. For a brief moment, all he could think of was chasing down the smaller canines until his heart stopped to desire chasing and running around. Not like that could ever happen in the history of the world.
His silence started to seem selfish as he kept all his thoughts to himself. He was afraid of starting to bore the young lass and that she would abandon his side. Which he did not want to happen. He just found something he wants to keep, loosing it so fast was not an option. "How long have you been alone? Is it easy for you to survive alone?" when he was not awkwardly silent, he was drowning her with questions. He just shook his head to himself. "Sorry," he apologized softly. "I babble a lot."
