Crescent leaped up onto the rock and howled to call her pack. It had felt like all the pups in the valley needed a ceremony lately, and today one more was to join the ranks of the subordinates.

Sombra quietly padded out of her den and sat beneath the rock, the small wolf wondering if today was to be her subordinate ceremony.

Seeing that the pup in question had arrived, Crescent decided to start. "Tonight, we are gathered to give a pup the rank of Subordinate. Sombra, please step forward."
Sombra smiled a little as her name was called, stepping forward.
"Sombra," Crescent continued, steely eyes resting on the wolf below her, "Today, you have come of age. Do you promise to uphold the Wolf-Laws and protect your pack, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do," Sombra barked, a surprising amount of maturity in her tone.
"Then by the power of the Sky-Wolves, I hereby give you the rank of Subordinate. May you serve your pack well." Crescent leaped down off the rock took greet the new Subordinate, ending the ceremony.
Sombra nodded as she received her new rank, smile growing slightly. It was time to show them what she was capable of.
