It was late afternoon and the darkening sky hadn't yet cooled the valley. Avikii stood outside his den, relaxing in the days slightly warm air, even though it was still what the pack considered winter, it had been warm that day. Then, the alpha got to his paws, taking in the amount of wolves, he smiled slightly, happy to see the pack at peace. He left those thoughts behind, for there were more important things to prepare for. He turned, jumping atop the den he had just stood beside, and faced his pack, lifted his head to the sky, and let out a low howl.
Today, a young wolf would gain an even higher rank. He stopped the howl, and looked down over his pack. Watching as wolves looked up and began to make their way over to the highstone.

Axolotl made his way to the front of the crowd to sit beside Shade. What was it now? The young male looked up at his step-father, maybe another subordinate?

Avikii noticed the pale russet male join the crowd, after watching for a brief moment, he spoke up again. "It's about time we've gotten ourselves a lead scout..." He began, not really sure how to start off, but continued anyway. "Axolotl, please step to the front." Avikii beckoned the younger wolf with a smile.

Axolotl's eyes widened with surprise. Him? As Lead Scout? Such an honor. Nervously the young male stepped forward and raised his head to Avikii staying solemn and silent.

After seeing the scout step forward, Avikii continued. "Axolotl, you have proven to be a great scout, and with rising tensions with the rogue tribe up north, we need all the strength we can get." He paused. "Until you are named an elder, you will be known as Canyon Pack's lead scout." He finished, making the announcement quick. He dipped his head in respect.
