Having been watching it all happen from being a patch of moorland brush that sat a decent distance from the Old Oxbow, Ice hadn't moved a muscle. So far, the humans had dropped off the newcomers, put some tags on the females, and left. It was a grueling process to watch, seeing as though the wolves were being handled by humans so much, but after what felt like ages, the weirdly skinned creatures departed, leaving the strange group of wolves laying on the ground, clearly still unconscious.
Lifting his nose, Ice sniffed the air and looked around. Making absolutely sure that the humans weren't still around, he took a few minutes to double check, and left his spot in the brush. Slowly and cautiously making his way over to the new comers, he stopped every few steps to sniff the air. One could never be too sure about lurking humans and it was better safe then sorry. Reaching the group of wolves, he leaned down and nudged the side of one of the wolves in hopes of helping them wake up, seeing as though he was very curious to find out who these strangers were.
Not long ago, humans had invaded the land of Slough Creek and had taken both Bison Pack and Canyon pack to some unknown place, never to be seen again. But, for some odd reason, he'd been left unscathed and alone. While his time in the valley was lonely and felt as though he'd been in solitude for ages, he assumed it'd only been about a number of sunrises, and today, his lonesomeness would hopefully be subdued.
Letting out a huff and watching as his breath disappeared into the chilly air, Ice gave his pelt a shake and made his way over to the flat rock in which the Alphas usually sat on during gatherings. Tail wagging slowly and ears perked, the large wolf watched and waited as the others finally began to finally stir. Hopefully, they wouldn't be too freaked out and he'd be able to talk to them...
*Please remember the "in role-play" reason that all the other wolves besides Ice poofed is 'cause... humans came to the valley and took all of the current wolves away, except one (Ice). Then, they brought in two new groups of wolves from unknown locations (that won't be rped about, except for the fact that they already know each other from their previous homes, ***and I'd prefer if you don't try and describe their past home. Let's just keep it an ominous place of the past), in which the humans will study, tag, yadayada. This is a topic following the new group being dropped off at Slough, so as expected, everyone is most likely confused and such.

I AM NOT A BAD MAN even though I do bad things VERY BAD THINGS such horrible things Slough Creek, a peaceful place to watch exotic creatures and see the flora that laid there. Much happened, so much was lost.
The Old Oxbow, a big tree that maybe had been growing there from more than just two years…
Ryūko stirred and opened her eyes, her head hurt, and her vision was blurred. Her muscles ached too. As soon as she raised her mouth, the young she-wolf groaned as she pushed herself up.
When finally her vision was restored, she noticed the figure of a male wolf standing over a big rock, he clearly had been waiting, but why?
She soon realized there were more wolves around her, she growled and stalked out from the sleeping strangers. With a glare, she marched until she was beneath the rock.
“Who are you and where I am?”, Ryūko growled violently, her black fur was fluffed up and her ragged ears were flattened. Her amber eyes were furious as raging fire.

Awareness came slowly. It filtered in through his nose first. The scents of the two-legged creatures fading behind the scent of grass, earth and the scents of varying creatures that must have passed by at some point. The scent of wolf hit him like a wall, prompted him to lay still for a little longer as he listened carefully. Steady, even breaths seemed to be coming from most of them. He could hear one who seemed particularly agitated from her demand. It was safe to assume there were another wolf, maybe two that were awake? Perhaps more?
Auberon wasn't keen on the concept of a fight immediately upon waking. His dark amber eyes opened slowly. The world filtering in blinding brightness for a moment. He squinted to filter out the light as he looked around carefully. His black and brown head swivelled around as he took stock of the situation. Two wolves, not four were awake. Several lay around them... his gaze caught up to the sights around them. Grass. An actual field of grass. With a disbelieving blink he rose slowly to his paws.
Grass, water, the scents and sounds of wilderness as he watched a flock of birds take off in the distance, and were those trees? He forced back the impulse to run. Relish this moment before it was ripped away. He turned towards the grey wolf on the rock and the black scarred she-wolf. Her questions earlier made sense now. "Do you know where we are?" He asked the grey wolf curiously.

Harlow awoke with a shallow, panicked exhale. As if her soul itself had left for the time being, and when she began to stir from her induced unconsciousness, it had returned through her parted mandibles and gave life to her once again. The air as crisp yet stagnant, and almost choking, as her body took a moment to stabilize itself. Meanwhile, red flags piled up. New surroundings (she never got acquainted with a place like this and that she knows for a fact), the wolves laying still beside her, the unfamiliar voices slowly coming into earshot-- everything. Everything has changed.
Her wide eyes, flooded with fear and confusion of the sort, darted from tree to tree, body to body... they never ceased bouncing around until, out of her mere peripherals, caught sight of a face that made memories flush behind her eyelids. "Quartz-" She rasped, her voice lacking any signature softness from the lack of use. She shuffles onto large mitts that urgently carried her over to the body of her old friend. How did she get here? Why.. Harlow hasn't seen her in-- she stops her mind in its tracks. She isn't moving, and for a second, the female's side doesn't rise and fall. Another look of panic, though this time she whips her head around to stare helplessly at the stranger's mere feet away. "Help!" Harlow whines, tail dropping between lithe legs. She doesn't pay a mind to the fact she doesn't know any of those canines. But, in her current state of manic, she doesn't care. Quartz is-- as she turns her head back, she watches the female's stomach fall with a quiet, yet perfectly clear to her ears, sigh. "Oh thank god, Quartz." She sighs with relief, ears swiveling back as she gently noses at her old companion.
She may not know where she is, why she's here, or just how she got here, but right now, she doesn't think about it. She keeps her worried gaze on Quartz and, fortunately, she's providing a much-needed distraction. She doesn't want to question everything right now, for she has no answers. And that frightens her the most.

There was a pounding in her head like one she had never felt before, and the ringing in her ears felt like it drowned out every sense she had. It took a few seconds, but slowly consciousness drew back to her mind, senses following after. She couldn't be bothered to move or even flicker her eyes open. She felt numbness tingle throughout her entire being, the only thing assuring her that her limbs were attached to her body was the fact that she was still breathing. Or so, she believed she was. The air that drew in through her nose was fresh, crisp. It seemed cold, sweet even. Something she hadn't had the pleasure of experiencing in what felt like ages.
She remained still, relishing in the flowing breeze that coursed through her dense fur. Something felt different. The sting of numbness in her legs began to dissipate as she felt the feeling return to them, finally able to assess what it was she was laying on. Grass. She found this even more peculiar. Her eyelids twitched open, but swiftly they closed upon a bright ray of light and the blurred flash of grass blades. Sunlight. Quartz let a low groan rumble through her parched throat as the pounding in her head began to subside, allowing her thought train to pick up steam again. She was hit with a wall of scents belonging to fellow wolves. They lacked familiarity and her muscles tensed visibly at the realization, but she kept still, eyes remaining squeezed shut after the shock of the almost blindingly bright light. The ringing that bounced back and forth between her ears began to die off once she was sure she was mentally aware. What sounded like voices registered from farther away, but they were muffled and distinguishing words were nearly impossible.
Suddenly a voice called to her. It was rasped and sounded urgent. Quartz kept still as she felt a presence appear next to her. The voice spoke again, but it seemed closer. It belonged to a female. Quartz was confused. How would this wolf know her? Why would she care? She felt a gentle nose nudge at her, and that was when she decided it was time to wake up. With a furrowed brow and a mind full of questions, Quartz squinted her eyes open again and allowed her eyes to adjust to her surroundings. Everything was blurred, but the clouded glaze over her eyes faded as she finally pieced everything together. From what she could tell, she was in a field. She tilted her head back a little to view more of the area. Her head remained rested on the ground, but she could make out the fallen figures of other wolves who laid around her. It almost looked like a genocide. Quartz jolted her head and shoulders up at that but instantly regretted it as a searing pain shot through her neck and upper body, causing her to groan audibly and collapse back over. She took notice of the muted red and russet paws that stood beside her, yet her mind was too focused on the ceasing pain in her shoulders to question them. Whoever they were, perhaps they could provide Quartz with answers.

Watching as the wolves began to stir, Ice stayed quiet, not moving a muscle as he observed. As to be expected, once awake, they all looked pretty confused. Ears swiveling towards the black she-wolf who'd asked him a question, he met her questioning gaze, but didn't open his jaw to reply, for he wanted to wait so that he had every-wolf's attention.
Assuming that the time he'd given them to regain their bearings was enough, Ice let out a low toned howl, which surely got their attention if they weren't looking to him already. Hopefully he'd be able to say the right thing, seeing as though he'd never given a speech in his life...
"Wolves from another land! Welcome," the husk voice male began, his stature tall and strong as he gave a dip of his head to the small crowd. "You all are in Slough Creek, a valley wealthy with prey and territory. I do not know the circumstances in which you were brought here, but no matter what they were, you are here now and must leave your past lives behind you," he barked. His face held no emotion and his voice was stoic, although there was the slightest hint of remorse when he spoke. "I am Ice, son of Storm, the past Bison Pack alpha," the grey pelted wolf continued, his voice trailing off as he realized that these wolves wouldn't know who in the world his father was, not what Bison Pack was, but oh well. What was said was said. Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, another question popped into mind. Had his friends and family been taken away to some other land just like these wolves? It was definitely a possibility...
"I'm unsure of what the reason was, but not too long ago, my pack and the other pack that had occupied these lands were suddenly taken away. I was the only wolf left, for who knows why, and now, you're here," he continued, his light gaze scanning the new comers. "I didn't know that I would be receiving company and I'm assuming that you all are here to stay..." Ice added, not really knowing what to assume or expect anymore.
OOC: just letting y'all know: there is no tree at the Oxbow. There is Lone Tree, but that's a little ways west. The Oxbox is in the vast grassy prairie (that separates the forests) with a semicircle of creek about 3/4 of a mile in length. In the middle of the semicircle river is a flat rock, almost like a platform, in which leaders sit on during gatherings (kinda like in Warriors). I'll try and find a better pic for y'all later on : ) Also, remember, try not to get too much into your character's past, as we don't want to get too caught up in the specifics of that and such, if that makes sense >< Also... I'll get more into the naming of the packs and a new alpha in my next couple of posts ; D

I AM NOT A BAD MAN even though I do bad things VERY BAD THINGS such horrible things Ryūko’s glaring and hard stare was locked only in the stranger sitting in the platform. Yet, the scarred female couldn’t help to growl to the other wolves as soon they started to stir from their sleeping state.
The black pelted she-wolf heard that wolf. His name, Storm. His introduction left Ryūko with some questions in her head, however, she didn’t voiced them.
“So, you are Ice,”she growled.“Son of whoever your parents were. And you say to be descendant of a pack wolf.”
Her tufted ears flicked, before she paused for some moments. This wolf was not a threat, but she didn’t trust him in a rush. Yet, that wasn’t any reason to not be polite
“Well then, Ice,“she said, coldly.“I’m Ryūko.”
Her pelt tingled with uneasiness. They were going to stay there forever! But, as long as Ryūko could eat properly, everything would be just fine.
