Lightning was caught by surprise that Avikii had knocked down the gatherers numbers to a measly three. His own mate could have pups soon, but he wasn't in the least concerned that two wolves would have enough time to restock the most important herbs that usually took almost a half a moon to a full moon to gather enough of. His tail swayed slighty in the wind, the cold breeze tugging at his fur. He flicked his ear, ignoring Avikii's dominant stance with a slight sourness. The position only reminded him the alpha led a practically perfect life a pup could only dream of. He had a pack that supported him, a vast territory, not to mention a lovely mate and pups on the way. Envy burned inside his stomach once again and he looked away, his ears flickering.
Arrow lifted her head briefly and then set it back down on her paws. She noticed even the queens were getting to go out, she felt an odd turn in her stomach, something like jealousy. But what of was the question.

Soba looked up at 302 who had called his name. he looked up excited that he got to go do something and he quickly jumped to his paws, bounding over to the lean wolf "oh thank you for letting me come!!" it was hard for the young wolf not to smile

Avikii shifted his gaze through the hunting group, noticing Lightning's expression... "Something wrong? He questioned his friend in a smooth voice. "If not, we should get going." He flicked his tail, the light down pour increasing slightly.

302 felt eyes piercing his back, it took everything he had not to wag his tail, but he did however let a small smile creep over his muzzle. He knew exactly who it was. The dark, lean wolf turned his head ever so slightly so that he could look at Arrow, who unfortunately had to stay here. He wished she could come along, but he knew Avikii would never allow, and all the glares he would receive from Lightning if 302 insisted on Arrow joining the group.
The Casanova sighed, "shall we be heading out ladies? We should gather all the herbs visibly seen, otherwise the water may kill them." He glanced forwards at the camps entrance.

Lightning's ears laid back the first moment water dripped inside. He heard the light pitter patter against his folded ears and ignored Avikii's first question, focusing on the fact they should head out before the rain picked up. "Lets go," he barked, not waiting for any responses before he made his way outside of camp. His ignorance blocked out all of his worries that Avikii might push him out of the way and take the lead [even though that's what an alpha does is lead (It just better helps his pride)] or the fact that nobody may follow his lead...
Arrow's ears laid back to hide her slight nervous embarrassment. Her pupils grew just slightly, her tail-tip thumping against her side only a bit, however not visible. She felt as if she couldn't breath for but a split second. Her heart pounded so fast, she couldn't distinguish one beat from another, feeling as though she had just run across the whole of the territory. She watched him turn away, glancing up from her paws, her ears flicked forwards before flicking back with a bit of sadness. She knew just as well as he did that she couldn't leave. A part of her realized Avikii was leaving and she debated on whether or not she wanted to sneak out or not.

Avikii watched in dismay as Lightning ignored his question, his eyes narrowed just slightly, he had better prove himself otherwise or I'll have to reconsider his up coming rank... He flicked his ears at Relic question, "Yes, I'm letting him." His tail swished as he began to pad forwards, finding a place behind Lightning, but not too far behind.

302 looked at Kaiser, "yes we definitely should." He cast a final look back at Arrow, hopefully they would return soon enough so he could sneak her a visit.
With those final thoughts the Casanova turned, and began to pad towards the entrance, mingling in with the hunting group for a moment before parting to the side, so he could lead his group an opposite direction.

Lightning heard the drumming of pawsteps behind him. He did not care whether it was merely Avikii or someone who had actually chosen to follow him. He paused to scent the air, but even the closest scents were too hard to decipher due to the rains. He decided they would search a small ways away from the river, somewhere between where the few trees around the territory provided nuts and fruit in a plenty for the prey to eat and nibble. If there was little luck, they could move on towards the feilds. Larger prey is harder to hide, however theres no tell if they migrated for the weather.
Arrow saw that everyone had left and stood up a bit, stumbling as she tried not to bump the roof of her den. Ultimately, she ended up bumping the low roof. She could not help it, the cold and lack of movement in such a cramped den left her muscles stiff. She looked at her body and began to notice for the first time she was loosing muscle mass from not having hunted or run or done much of anything. She let out a shiver as she observed her drenched pelt, after bumping the roof, all the water collected on the leaves had spilled onto her. She whimpered a bit as the cold snuck beneath her fur.

Kaiser trotted out of the camp, following after 302. She didn't exactly know what she was looking for at all, but shrugged, hoping one of the other wolves would know. She yawned again, keeping her head tilted down a bit. The oncoming drizzle splattered against her dry fur as she walked, and the breeze ruffled her fur.

Avikii kept his eyes narrowed slightly, not only because of Lightning's attitude, but because the rain was slowly picking up more and more with each paw step.
"Lightning, you had better pick a good place quick because soon the rain will scare off the smaller prey." His tail swayed low behind him, eyeing the lead warrior in front of him.

302 lifted his nose to the air, light rain drops pattered his muzzle as he attempted to sniff out some herbs. A small, short lasting scent caught his nose.
"Over here." He lifted his tail and picked up his pace, turning a bit before heading forwards again.

302 paused, realizing he didn't either. He sighed, "me either, I just smelt herbs, I have no idea if they're the right ones." He turned, meeting her gaze for a moment, before turning to Koga, who had been following a few paces behind.
"Koga, do you know what herbs we need? For the nursing wolves, and of course whatever else we can pick up." He eyes her, knowing that she probably knew the most abut herbs between the four of them.

koga looked between the pair of eyes but nodded "um yes im pretty sure we need some borage.... and juniper and raspberry leaves. for the nursing wolves" she looked around "and we can grab whatever else we need like 302 said"
kane followed slowly behind relic, hoping they would catch something. he was also very confused as to why lightning was leading. but he didnt care very much

Lightning took little notice as he took off in the direction he had decided on, he pelted between the trees, over large branches and small shrubs. His ears flicked and swiveled only slightly as he tried to track nearby noises, trying to keep somewhat light on his paws. Problem with that was that he felt his paws glide a bit with every step as the dirt became mud and less safe to travel over.
Arrow looked around at the camp, shivering as she felt the water slip beneath her coat. She no longer had the same muscle, nor the same fat or even the nutrients to start growing her winter coat. The thought of not growing a winter coat brought a fear to her mind... what if she froze? That tiny shelter isn't even fit to be considered a shelter... What if she fell asleep and never woke up? These thoughts that swarmed her mind made her fret more and more, bringing her to whimper a bit. Her ears laid back to protect them from filling with even a drop of water. She shivered more and more and debated on sneaking into a den...

Avikii quietly followed Lightning, he didn't say another word seeing as Lightning would only ignore the sound of his voice. He hoped Lightning would find a good hunting spot soon before all the prey went underground.

By the time the group had followed along the river from quite a distance, reaching an area somewhat fruitiful in plants for any of the planteaters/ prey. The rain had slowly become harder, faster... (Thats what she said...) Lightning knew there was no prey close to camp, they would hardly be likely to find them close to the rising water, but maybe they could near their food source. The odds were not in their favor much. "Alright, we are here, split up, cover as much ground as you can. Theres no use in us taking turns looking for something like little pups on their first hunt." Lightning called out, his voice was strong and sure. However on the inside he worried, would it have been better to go after a herd? This rain was picking up. What if no matter what he had chosen, the prey would have already scattered and everyone would wonder what if and he would be left to blame? He turned off, to split up, and tried to dismiss the doubts and negative thoughts, but they hung over his head like a raincloud. What if there was no prey? What if his hopes that the water level rising would drive prey in shelters by the river up to where there was food. Hopes that the prey would be collecting last minute food not knowing how long the rain may continue. His fur was pricked with an unease as he used his senses as best as he could manage.
Arrow shivered, the rain kept hitting her pelt, and standing still was not exactly the best idea in such cold weather. She glanced between the den she knew to be 302's and Lightnings and back to her own. She didn't know which patrol would return first. 302's or Lightnings. Would a little bit of warmth be good enough even if it meant getting in trouble? Arrow shivered again, not just because of the cold, but remembering and reliving each of Lightnings or Avikiis corporal punishments. She looked at the ground, perhaps it wasn't a good idea. She turned her eyes back towards the den, but she had to do what she had to survive. She nodded and sighed, turning back towards her own den. She felt the cold completely overwhelm her body as she settled in her den. She could not bring the shivers to a stop. Arrow tried to curl up tighter but found no use in it. She could feel her body grow numb from the pain of the cold water dripping from her makeshift den and blowing in from outside. She watched the rain pour down. Perhaps she should have gone to the den, at least in 302s den she could be safe.. She could be warm.. She could fall asleep and not have a fear of awakening. She felt the leaves above her give way once more as a bucketful of water fell upon her body. Arrow whimpered, never looking so pitiful, curling up even tighter if possible, trying to think warm thoughts.
