Avikii stayed silent, following Lightning's words with hast. He listened as the hunting party's paw steps all faded away into different directions. He felt the cold seep under his thick pelt, the rain was finally beginning to drench him. Once he had parted away far enough from the group of four, Avikii began to attempt to get a scent of anything. It was difficult through the rain, so he stuck his nose closer to the ground and tried sniffing near where it seemed hares and other rodents would burrow. He hated searching for small prey. No only were they hard to find, but they also were hardly a snack. Avikii hoped they would be able to hunt elk, but they would only be able to if the herd was nearby.

302 hurried, he wanted to get his task done. Not only because of the cold pouring rain but because Arrow. He was... well... also worried for her, he had observed her small 'den' many times, and noted the various problems with it that would let in cold air in, and during a day like this, rain. He scented the air for any sign of plant life, something maybe with a smell he didn't recognize.
A scent hit his nose, it smelt kind of familiar, "hey guys, I think I smell an herb." He hoped it would be one that a nursing wolf would need to use.

koga sniffed the air too "i think your right that is a herb! and better yet it might be borage!" she trotted forwards up beside 302 so she could get a good look at the herb.
kane nodded at lightning and began to pad away in some other direction. he looked around for any rustles and then sniffed around. he caught the scent of a mouse probably and stalked it until he found it. he inched his body closer too it before pouncing and making the kill. what a small scrap, he thougt.

Lightning looked around trying his hardest to look for prey, however he wasn't having much luck. He took a few steps by a large tree with knotted roots. He was of course trying to be as quiet as possible not knowing how close prey could be. He looked around, his ears flicking and swiveling in circles. It wasn't until he turned his head did he realize. There just by a bush not even a fox-length from the tree was a dark brown hare. It was struck with fear and was trying not to be seen. Lightning had seen it however, and now that he had happened to find something of worth, he wouldn't let it go. The hare started thumping its foot against the ground, against the mud, trying to alert others. Lightning realized there must be more hare somewhere in that tangle of roots. There couldn't be a deep of a hole considering the fact that no hare hole had been found there before. So if there even was one at all, it was just created. These hares must have fled from the river bed. He considered it lucky to have found such a thing, however there was no telling what he would catch. He laid his ears back and slowly crept closer and closer to the hare.
Arrow shivered her tail covered her nose, she tried to keep her eyes open but struggled as the cold and ache of tiredness grew to be almost overwhelming for her body to physically handle. Longer and longer she fought it, and harder and harder it grew...

Avikii paced slightly, his paw steps were light and he kept his ears and eyes peeled for any sound or sight. He slunk forwards, narrowly avoiding dry bushes and rocks. A faded scent crossed his nose, he recognized it well, but had no idea where it came from. He dropped to a hunting crouch instinctive. He continuously eyes the grasses around him, there was a gathering of trees and boulders up ahead a little ways so he decided that would be the best place to look. Avikii stalked forwards silently, just barely rustling the grasses as he made his way along the edge of one of the smaller boulders. He every so slightly moved his head so he could look around the boulder.
To his surprise, a fawn, no older than about two months was curled up against the base of one of the trees. Avikii grinned, pressing his ears flat against his head, slowly slinking towards the unsuspecting fawn. Once he was close enough, he pounced at it with the biggest leap his legs could provide. To his dismay, he landed to far away from it, its ears perked up, now seeing the wolf. The pouring rain had messed with Avikii's depth perception, but there was still a chance to catch the fawn. In the blink of an eyes it quickly rose on wobbly legs, but still ran. Avikii ready'd himself and darted after it. The fawn was slow, and clumsy, stumbling around smaller boulders and others trees, but its small size gave it an advantage. Avikii followed it with struggle, he could race like a bullet on open fields, but around boulders, he was hopeless. He didn't give up though, he noted the fawn take an awkward route and he knew just how to cut it off. The alpha doubled backwards, zipping around a boulder. As he rounded the huge rock he came face to face with the petrified fawn. It left out a helpless squeal as Avikii lunged and made the kill...
Avikii lifted his head, the dead fawn dangled from his jaws. This was about all the luck he could get today, as the rain hardened all the prey would eventually disappear, the fawn must have been in the open because it's mother was nearby, but he couldn't trace the scent of her. He shrugged, trotted off back to the direction he came from.

302 lead the way, he approached a plant the was at the edge of the rising waters. He couldn't identify it, but if it would be underwater soon, they should probably gather it now. He ducked down, nibbling at the base of the plant. He felt Kaiser, Koga, and Soba approach from behind him.

kane looked around, the mouse in his jaws he wasnt sure if he should atch more. he decided yes bc any prey is good prey

Relic nodded to lightning and headed in an opposite direction. he turned a corner and scented the air. nothing... Hm... he thought, maybe i should search around shrubs for a vole or hare.

The rain pelted Avikii's back as he made his way back to where the group split up, he wasn't sure if there would be any other wolf there yet. He continued making his way towards the spot, following his own scent back to it, when he looked up, he noticed Kane, who hadn't wandered too far off. Avikii observed the prey he had caught, and it appeared he was still looking for more. He dropped the fawn in a patch of lower, softer grass, it fell limply from his jaws. Avikii padded over to Kane, "hey, put your mouse over there beside my kill, and we can go look for some more small prey." andl

302 bit off the rest of the herbs, the raw tasting bundle clamped between his jaws. He looked around for somewhere to put the herbs until they could come back and get them after their search, he noted a small flat rock a little ways off. He quickly swiveled his head back around to obverse the water. It wasn't rising too fast, in fact it was hard to see it rising at all, the rock would be a fine place to hide some herbs. "This way," he mumbled through a mouthful of leaves and began to lead the group towards the landmark.

Relic didn't realize how far he had strayed from the original spot, it didn't matter much though, I mean the point to split up isn't to stick around the same area. He looked around realizing again he had strayed near the creek. this portion was fast flowing compared the the other areas, and with the rising waters it looked pretty deep. he inspected the surrounding area and saw a baby elk on the other side. perfect!
soba only nodded, and followed 302

"over here, they're good for the nursing females" she thought about her self adn her pup.

Avikii thought for a moment then shrugged, "yes, what I really want to do is look to see if an elk herd is withstanding the rain. They don't exactly have anywhere to go so they may just be out in the open somewhere," He said as he shook his rain drenched pelt free of the heavy water. He began to turn and pad away, not saying anything. He was jogging his mind for the last place he saw and elk herd, and if he couldn't get that, he would simply go to the elk hunting grounds.

Lightning leapt after the hare at the same minute that it turned to run. He hardly grabbed onto it. His teeth latched on the small tail of the hare. He pulled it away from the hole quickly before the hare pulled itself away from its tail. The hare hit the ground hard and with a thud. He leapt after it with a quickness that resembled lightning. He latched his jaws around its neck and snapped its neck. He opened his mouth and there lay the limp carcass of the hare. He took a glance back and wondered if he had any shot at digging up the warren.
Arrow felt her muscles slowly stiffen over as she laid there as the cold rain pelted her fur.

Relic was know leg deep in the rushing water, he was determined to prove himself and catch an elk. maybe avikii would even rank him up for his bravery of crossing the creek. or worse what if he was called stupid. he didnt care he only wanted to be seen as brave. he placed another paw in the water. then another. until he lost his balance.
Soba followed behind the herb searching group, growing bored, he hoped they would go back soon enough

Avikii lifted his nose to the air, small droplets of water pelted it as he scented the air. Elk. He dropped his muzzle back to eye level, looking in the direction the scent had come from. He then turned to Kane, who seemed to be a little ways behind him, "Kane!" He got the lead hunters attention, "I smell elk up ahead somewhere, want to investigate?" He cocked his head, waiting for a reply.

302 continued padding forwards, he caught the scent of raspberries as well and quickly took the lead, he knew exactly where they grew because he would often go down and eat a few, even though it wasn't recommended for wolves, he couldn't deny their sweet tangy taste.
