Early Training (OPEN)

Leafa glanced up from where she was sleeping with groggy eyes. She rolled over and stood up. Training, huh. She strode over and yawned.
"I guess I don't have a choice," she said, sarcasm rolling in her voice.

Avikii watched as a few subordinates stirred, he glanced over at 302 who approached and offered to help, he nodded a thank you. Perhaps a few other officially ranked wolves will show up to help. The lean alpha ignored Leafa’s snarky greeting, turning to an excited Kuno instead, all the while glancing at Lily, who he realized was stirring as well.

"Alright, meet me by the entrance, I’m going to see if any others wish to join the training." He informed, turning to trot towards the common den.

302 left Avikii’s nod without a response, inspecting the subordinates. Surprisingly, he didn’t know many of them other than sort of Kuno. Leafa had just joined the pack, and Lily he didn’t pay much attention to, which was odd considering his personality.

Kuno went up to Avikii, nodding in thank you and then heading to the entrance where he was told to wait. He looked back at the other subordinates, flicking his ear.

Ceiko padded out of the den, the subordinates den. He was, quite frankly, shocked to find himself sleeping in an unfamiliar den, with new wolves, different wolves.
To him, they all seemed so different, different from puphood. He took a great notice to all of that, being the observant wolf he was.
His siblings seemed different, but they were his siblings, perhaps it was just him
Hediki had grown to be much more critical but mature in doing so.
Swift seemed to be so much more stubborn, her playful attitudes faded like a morning fog to the afternoon sun.
Perhaps it was just him, perhaps he just seemed to see it this way. Perhaps he was the one who had changed...
And then Lily, he murmured the name, just to feel it roll off his tongue. The sweet sensation that brought thoughts of odd things to his head at just the mention of her name. Things like the crisp autumn air, or the gentle patter of a thin rain. Both things, while harsh, seemed so delicate when compared to her. However, even she seemed different to him... While trying to converse with him at first, she had been so friendly and outgoing, perhaps it was just him, but she seemed to grow all the more silent and distant. His tail swayed in the wind as he paused in his tracks, less then a foxlength away. Suddenly a bitter thought crosses his mind, 'perhaps I did something? Did I do something to offend her? Did I do something to push her away?' These negative thoughts tugged at his mind, pulling at the strings of his heart. He couldn't say he actually had any friends, and the closest thing he had to one was Lily, yet they hardly seemed to speak. Ever. Perhaps it had something to do with the slim age gap between them.
His ears drooped,briefly. He shook out his pelt and bit back every strand and note of his broken song. He trotted forth a few more paces to stand besides the group, his smile as bright as ever. His smile as fake as ever, yet none would be able to determine the difference. His tail wagged, "I heard we were going for training?" He questioned, his voice cheerful.

Swift watched her father, Lily, the newcomer Leafa, Ceiko, His siblings and Hediki... Oh how she even thought his name with a tone as bitter as she would spit it out loud. She scoffed in disgust at the mere thought of him. She was not content in the least that her father had ranked him up before her.
She climbed out of the nursery with ease, not having to squeeze through like most of the adults, considering her small size that seemed to refuse to increase. She shook her pelt of the burr that had found itself attached to her overnight, unlike most of her peers ever would be any time soon. She sat down to nibble at the webbing between her paws that proves to be quite the pesky itch.
As much as she hated she was not a subordinate, she didn't care much at the moment. She was in a state where she didn't even have to lift a paw to be fed. Food was just given to her. She saw herself like a queen and Hediki... was her hardworking peasant.

Leafa followed Avikii out of the den site. She glanced around as she walked softly. It was getting colder and the sound of prey wasn't there.

Kuno quickly followed the group, finding that he had ended up beside ceiko. He looked at the fellow sub, slightly surprised to see his eyes. "Oh, yes! We are going out to train!" He told the white wolf.

Avikii continued to lead the group southward, His paws beat rhythmically on the cold, solid ground. They passed the the oddly barren hunting grounds and the eastern border, all the while following the creek, using it as a necessary guide to the flat fields. The alpha male paused, the sound of his body passing through tall grass coming to a stop, it made their surroundings surprisingly quite. He turned to face the group, catching 302’s eye at the back of the group.

"Alright, since the only wolves here that aren’t subordinates are me and 302, and there are five of you… Three of you go with 302 and the other two come with me." He barked, glancing through the many pairs of eye that looked up at him. He had had plenty of experience training yearlings, so he put it on 302 to do more since the only subordinate he had trained was Soba. Avikii flicked an ear, taking a seat and waiting for his pair to arrive. They wouldn’t continue to move forward until the younger wolves had found their group, that way, Avikii and 302 could train in two different places and it wouldn’t be so clustered.

302 continued to shuffle forward, he didn’t realize how quickly they were moving until he noticed that they passed the hunting grounds. He kept a keen golden gaze on the younger wolves, making sure for some reason they were to wander off. As they approached the southern fields, the fields that were so well-known for training, he noticed every wolf in the group was starting to slow down, and he quickly found out why. Avikii had stopped and turned round to assign groups, which the Casanova was thankful for, that way, everything wouldn’t be so hectic.

The black wolf sat down himself, just waiting for the subordinates to start shuffling around to pick an older wolf to group with. He kind of hoped he got paired with she-wolves, and any wolf could guess why. Yet, he could easily assumed they would try to be in Avikii’s group, simply because he was the alpha.

Elpis, seeking to learn more about 302, went to him rather than Avikii. She waved her grey tail lightly as she approached and then sat down by his side. Her fur settled as she did, and parted around her chest and reformed with each of her breaths.

Lily made her way to Avikii, giving the alpha a respectful nod. She'd love to train with the Alpha and although she wasn't showing it, she couldn't wait to start training.
