Expanding Your Realities (CLOSED PATROL) [ Finished ]

Lightning flicked his tail, he looked down at the two subordinates, "We will wait here until Avikii and Ceiko return." His voice was firm as he ordered the command, and silence and good behavior almost seemed somewhat threateningly implied in his words.

Swift rolled her eyes, but said nothing, sitting near to Lightning, but away from Hediki. She made sure, however, to keep a fair hare length between herself and the Beta.

Ceiko was rather impressed, he was growing so big so fast, and even still Avikii had the strength to hoist him out of the bush. Cieko licked a bit of snow off his chest to hide his slight embarrassment, "Thank you.." he muttered, slightly ashamed for his clumsiness.

Ceiko nodded and hurried to reach Lightning and the others. He felt like an absolute idiot for getting caught in the brambles. He looked around, scenting the air, trying to maybe catch the scent of a fox or coyote or rouge that had passed by. He didn't mean wish such ill fortunes on Canyon pack, but if there were one, he wanted to be the first to find it.
He was alert in every way, searching for scents and listening for sounds and looking for torn prey or odd paw prints.

Lightning nodded to Avikii in response, casually strolling along, unlike the eager to impress Ceiko.

Swift didn't even waste her energy to throw a glance at him, her tail flicking back and forth haughtily.

(My mom is making sausages and it smells like someone is making spam/ just used the bathroom /~\)

Swift nodded, she raised her nose for a scent that seemed to smell like her pack, looking around for the border posts. Her tail flicked back and forth in graceful circles as it spun endlessly in the shape of infinity. She looked around and found a rather strong scenting area that she took to be a post. She paused and turned to take her time to mark it as best as she could. It was more of a males job but she wasnt about to complain. At least she was out of camp finally.

Ceiko nodded and headed the opposite of Swift, eagerly bounding south of the group to mark posts that he found quicker and easier then Swift had managed to.

Ceiko continued to mark the boarder a bit south, then just as he was heading back, he paused. He could scent something else. His head whirred around as he tried to find a veiw of whatever it was. Finally, just against the white snow, he could hardly see a white snow hare. He found it odd that this hare was white, but assumed it was prey nonetheless.
Slowly he stalked forwards, he was perhaps almost as hardly visible against the snow, however a snap of a twig gave way to his presence. He cursed at himself for his careless efforts.

Swift was making her way back just as she bumped into Hediki, "Watch it!" She snapped softly into his ear as not to draw attention from Lightning or Avikii.

Ceiko took no time to hesitate, bolting loudly through the brush and overgrowth after the hare... into rouge territory.

Lightning watched Avikii sprint off, it wouldn't be unlikely if a gang of rouges just happened to cross their path due to Ceiko's inexperience. He gave little thought and left Hediki and Swift in the saftey of their territory to back up his Alpha.

Ceiko pressed his paws on, willing them faster as he weaved around clumsily, trying to catch the hare that continued to elude him.

Swift notice Lightning's quick absence and took this as her chance to turn around and attack Hediki. She writhed in place, twisting around to grab a hold of his scruff. She found herself caught in such an awkward position, it was difficult to do so. Nonetheless, she bit down into his scruff with all her might.

Ceiko felt oblivious to everything around him. Every bramble that dragged against his fur, twig that scratched at his ankles, sounds, scents and instincts. They were all drowned out by his pure intention to impress Avikii, he would not stop. He would not stop. He would not stop. He continued to tell himself over and over again, he wanted so badly to prove he was worth it, to prove himself a good and useful canyon pack wolf.

Swift yelped feeling a few of his snaps manage to yank out a bit of her fur. She growled letting go. She spun on her heels and turned to face him again. Her eyes blared with an anger she had been dying to release for so long. Her ears were pinned against her head and her nose was wrinkled up. She would show him! She would show him not to mess with the Alpha's daughter! She would put him in his place!

Swift let out a small yelp of pain, her heart pounding. She shook herself off, a bit stunned. She took a step back, her eyes a bit wide with the shock.

It was now that she saw it a bit more clearly. She took the time to quickly assess the male. He was strong, that was undoubtedly true. Her heart pounded faster, her adrenaline fading to something much worse. She saw the determination glow in his eyes. Her heart plummeted with fear as it coursed through her veins.

She quickly snapped out of her daze. She was small. 'I am small, so then use it to your advantage' Swift told herself. She weaved quickly around him, keeping low and somewhat out of range. Once she had managed to slink behind him, she took little hesitation to latch her teeth onto his hind quarters.

Ceiko heard his alpha. He took one last attempt. He leapt forth with a great strength in his hind quarters. He pushed himself through the snow and with flashing teeth, he landed atop the hare, but just barely. Beneath his paw it was trapped. He quickly dealt the killing blow before it had the opportunity to escape from his grasp.

It was obvious, that somewhere in him, the white wolf had northern blood. Wolves of the north had white pelts and managed to be extremely successful in the snow unlike most wolves from more southern parts. They were strongly built wolves with much stamina, however he had a decent amount of southern wolf in him too, mostly thanks to 302, for he was fairly quick as well. The young male's only weakness would be to the heat of the summer season, where his semi-thick pelt could prove as dangerous as his father's black one.

The young male picked up his catch with pride. He breathed heavily as he trotted back towards Avikii, his eyes sparkled with happiness. 'I did it!' he thought excitedly. He was surprised he had managed to catch it, but he did. It would be great for the pack, especially in this time of need.

Swift held on with all she had, she did her best to keep low so she was harder to reach but found it harder and harder the more he wiggled around. She felt him move quickly and gruffly. She lost her balance and fell of to the side.

She stumbled for a short distance, no more then a few paces, trying to keep her balance but she ended up topping over. Her body hit the ground with a hard thud as she slipped on the icy wet ground, her neck popped with the shock her spine absorbed when it hit the ground before the rest of her body. Her neck and head pounded almost as if she had hit her head.

Her scruff throbbed with the pain in her scruff, she groaned, laying there stunned.

Lightning panted as he caught up with them finally, he wasn't very used to having to run through the heavy snow.

He was a heavy wolf, making it much more difficult to run. He was quite similar in body type to Ceiko, but a bit more on the heavy and bulky side. Lightning was quick due to the muscles he had developed, but those were only developed so well, and were not naturally developed to perform well against the snow. The once loner wolf, could easily fit to either pack, he was quick to a certain degree, but not as fast as a majority of the canyon pack, however he was much stronger then them, but certainly not as strong as a Bison wolf.

He shook his pelt and took a breath. He took a glance between Avikii and Ceiko and quickly began hurrying back.

Ceiko flinched at his Alpha's harsh tone, his ears laid back and his tail tucked between his legs.

He thought he had done good? What did he do wrong? Was a white hare different then a regular hare? Did it taste bad? Was it because he had stepped on that twig and messed up? Was it because he wasted his energy and run too far? Why did he want him to be quiet? Perhaps he just didn't want to hear him speak. Perhaps he wasn't fit to be a part of this pack.

He slowly became worried that everything he would do is wrong. Hes clumsy, hes foolish, everything he thought he did good would only actually be bad. He was useless to the pack. The young male bit his tongue to hold back the whimper that made his throat tight with sadness. He was a .. a mess-up that should have never been born.

Cursed to ever walk this land.

Swift had looked away narrowly, refusing to speak, just as her father came to her aid. She quickly scurried to her paws and shook off her pelt. She stood nearby, her head throbbing, her ears back and head low. Her tail flicked back and forth gently as she watched her father deal with Hediki. She kept silent, not saying anything, her expression unchanging.

Ceiko saw Swift injured and quickly rushed to her side, dropping the hare a bit behind himself, "Are you okay?" He asked, observing her wounds. They weren't very deep, nothing too serious, but wounds none the less. He huffed, wishing he knew how to help, but he took a step back. He probably shouldn't even try, he knew nothing about herbs and even if he did, he would probably mess it all up.
